i suspect the reviews for this book are fake

this audiobook teaches you very little, repeats itself constantly, the narrator makes countless mistakes (no idea why they wouldnt edit them out)

all the 5 star reviews were left on the same exact day which leads me to suspect they are paid for, as this book really teaches you nothing

Dont believe the reviews.

All this book talks about is what CBT is made up of, studies where it has been used and what types of problems or disorders it is best used for treating. I have not learnt anything useful. Not a book for the general public, better suited to a student looking to expand their knowledge in the fields surrounding CBT but not actual techniques or methods of CBT.

Very poorly read

A very poor reading, packed full of un-edited blunders. Couldn't listen to it past the first chapter.

Not helpful at all

First of all the narrator sounds like a computerised robot voice.
And the content of the book is basically just telling you that cbt can help.
But with no descriptive or practical lessons to actually help you.
A pointless book in my opinion

Don't, just don't!

Couldn't even finish this. The information is limited to what CBT is and what it's various uses are. It's then repeated chapter after chapter in slightly altered fashion. Very little in the way of useful advice and almost no practical exercises or examples. Couple this with very poor narration (think automated train announcements but ones that make mistakes then catch their breath and try again, I appreciate that's an editing error and not the narrator's but it does well as an indication of the production values) and it's just the most disappointing use of a credit.

Amazing!!!!!!!

This book is so helpful and educational in so many ways! From listening this book I have learned that CBT also known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy was originally created for treating depression, also that it is a form of psychotherapy used to treat numerous mental conditions. This book has taught me that the different conditions effectively treatable using CBT include; depression, anxiety, chronic stress , personality disorders, intrusive thoughts, addiction issues, eating disorders, lack of self-esteem, and mood instability i was never aware of this until i purchased this book. I give you my word that if you purchase this book you will be more successful in life. Thank you and god bless.

Easy to digest and really opens your eyes.

This book made me realize how much easier it can be to take charge of anxiety and it's symptoms than I had originally thought. The explanation of how you can completely change your thought process when dealing with anxiety is an amazing discovery. I have learned how to face my negative thoughts, and realize that they are not what is actually happening around me. The method of sitting with your thoughts and letting them take their course so you can think about them rationally has what's helped me the most, realizing that just because I am thinking these thoughts doesn't necessarily mean..

The Step by Step Guide To positive thing

The book also includes worksheets and exercises, so it not only teaches therapists how to administer CBT in theory but also helps therapists develop concrete treatment plans for their clients. Since this book includes three extensive case studies rather than just one, it is a great option for people who like learning by following along with examples.

Effective ways to overcome depression

With depression often comes a psychological myopia: the sufferer robotically repeats to him or herself soul-sucking negative thoughts: “Nothing I try ever works out” “How could I have been so stupid?” “I am not worthy of being loved”. A patient deep in the throes of that kind of thinking can, if unchecked, spend an entire session staring at one spot—often the floor.

How to overcome anxity

Anxiety is a word we use for some types of fear that are usually to do with the thought of a threat or something going wrong in the future, rather than right now. Fear and anxiety can last for a short time and then pass, but they can also last much longer and you can get stuck with them. In some cases they can take over your life, affecting your ability to eat, sleep, concentrate, travel, enjoy life, or even leave the house or go to work or school. This can hold you back from doing things you want or need to do, and it also affects your health.
