Summary

Are you ready to take control of your mind? And overcome anxiety, depression, and negative thoughts?

If you are looking for a way to deal with your mental issues once and for all, then Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: An Effective Practical Guide for Rewiring Your Brain and Regaining Control over Anxiety, Phobias, and Depression is the audiobook you have been waiting for.

Current estimates put the number of adults in the US dealing with some form of unresolved mental issue at more than 40 million. The good news is that if you are dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, a phobia-based fear, or more then there is an alternative out there that's as equally effective as any pharmaceutical on the market today and it’s known as cognitive behavioral therapy.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a type of psychotherapy that works around the assumption that there are simply some behaviors that cannot be controlled through conscious thought alone. In fact, it posits that all behaviors actually occur thanks to a mixture of internal and external stimuli and a lifetime of conditioning in one of an infinite number of ways and offers up numerous different exercises that can be done on your own as a way to replace negative habits with positive ones.

From this audiobook you will find a wide variety of different mental and physical exercises you can do all by yourself in order to take back control of your life once and for all.

From this audiobook you will find:

  • Breathing techniques to manage stress and anxiety
  • Ways to expose yourself to the triggers of your mental issues to strengthen your resolve
  • Tips for picking out and discarding negative mental patterns
  • Easy ways to pinpoint your cognitive distortions and remove them once and for all
  • And more…

So, what are you waiting for? Get ready to finally change your life for the better, buy this audiobook today and start your healing journey!

Easy to listen; great tools to use!

listening to this audiobook, not only provided easy to understand the terminology, but it also gave me some great advice on steps to take and tools to use. It aimed to help build a set of skills that anyone(without additional monetary resources) could employ in their every day lives to help combat the impact of anxiety and depression on one’s every day living.

Good content, not the best formatting.

This audiobook was very interesting, and I think a lot of the content was very helpful. I liked the examples of the different types of negative habits - I wouldn't have thought I had some of these bad habits until they were explained in detail. Having those examples of bad/negative behavior helps to contrast it with the good behaviors learned throughout the course of this audiobook.

The audiobook is very informative

The audiobook is very informative. It explains how to conduct CBT by yourself, and when to ask for help if needed on your CBT journey. I like that it gives you work audiobooks to help you get started and gather your thoughts. Throughout the listenings, it gives you examples of thoughts that you can use and questions to ask yourself when analyzing those thoughts and emotions. It helps you personalize the experience for yourself.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: 7 Steps to Freedom

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: 7 Steps to Freedom from Anxiety, Depression and Intrusive Thoughts by Alex C. Wolf is a self-help audiobook on how to deal with mental health. The audiobook is complete despite the length of it (150 pages); the audiobook starts with what is CBT and how it could help us and it goes on to the how to use it for anxiety and depression

A good choice on one for self-guided practice

I've done some cognitive behavior therapy in the past with a therapist and I found that to be very helpful. I hadn't done any of the methods in a while and wanted to do something a little more self-guided

A fascinating and detailed listen

I've always been fascinated by CBT, especially as someone that deals with anxious tendencies and whatnot. This audiobook blew me away with information. I've had conversations with various mental health professionals over the years about cognitive behavioral therapy and while I had a vague understanding of it, this audiobook showed me how little a truly knew.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is basically

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (often abbreviated CBT) is basically the logical conclusion of philosopher Rene Descartes’ famous phrase, “I think therefore I am.” Before jumping on to the “think yourself thin” bandwagon though, keep in mind that CBT is designed to address a problem everyone has - imperfect circumstances - and learning to control your thoughts rather than letting your thoughts or circumstances control you.

Extremely Helpful Tips this audiobook

Alex C. Wolf has narrated an outstanding audiobook, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is most certainly an audiobook that could help many people if they took the time to read it. I absolutely enjoy the depths Wolf went to in the audiobook to explain the different types of thoughts that affect people along with the successful ways to overcome the negative thoughts in our personal thoughts.

This was a helpful and informative audiobook

This was a helpful and informative audiobook. I suffered from panic attacks when I was in college and I wish it would have been around back then. The audiobook contains a lot of information about intrusive thoughts, which myself and millions of other people deal with on a daily basis. The author makes it very clear that we shouldn't avoid situations that tend to trigger our intrusive thoughts because doing so will only serve to create even more anxiety surrounding the situation and make it worse.

My first thoughts on this audiobook

My first thoughts on this audiobook it’s not your average self-help audiobook. I didn’t think that I would like it in the beginning because of the fact that it has a lot of” technical” wording that not everyone will understand. The technical part tells you about the therapy, what it is and how it works. Once you do get past that the author provides steps with examples to help identify the problem, how you can treat your anxiety

Definitely a great first step.

This book helped me realize how seeing things in a positive rather than a negative way can really make an impact in your life. As the book mentions, this is not going to resolve all of your issues but it is definitely a great first step.

What and why of certain techniques.

This would be useful to b someone considering therapy for the first time. It doesn't have enough depth to substitute for therapy, which is a good things, but does give insight into the what and why of certain techniques.

Others in a positive way.

It doesn’t just force you to think or see things positively, it explains how to change your mindset and why it is so important to see yourself and others in a positive way.

Learning a better way to communicate with myself.

Wallace touches on some major points that directly related to my personal life. Not only does this audiobook encourage self-acceptance, but it provides the tools to help identify the mental challenges that hold us back from living our best life. I suffer from anxiety and stress and since becoming a parent I have dealt with intrusive thoughts and self-doubt.

Practical and Useful audiobook

As someone that has secretly struggled with anxiety for years, this audiobook has provided a number of useful and pragmatic ways not to just fight my anxiety but to understand it on a deeper level. My favorite quote from this audiobook is, "Our lives are fables in a boundless cosmic story" sums up this audiobook in the sense that Wallace does not want us to feel small and our problems to seem big-just the opposite

An easy to understand guide and work audiobook

This simple, straightforward quote put the rest of the audiobook in perspective. The audiobook is broken down into seven main sections and each section has multiple subsections that allow you to absorb the information in bite-size pieces. To be quite honest, I wish more audiobooks on topics like this were structured the same way.

Good for self help this audiobook

I particularly like how this audiobook is narrated. It is really easy to listen which I think is great. Especially for a self-help audiobook, I like that it does emphasize that people should seek proper treatment if this does not work for them. It also includes that serious issues such as self-harm or suicidal ideation also needs professional help. I think this audiobook could be perfect for those who are too nervous about going into treatment or are not able to go into treatment for other reason

I recommend this to all.

This audiobook is short enough and straight forward, so I would recommend listening to the audiobook first and then relistening it and practice the exercises that it describes. One exercise I tried was I attempted to challenge my own core beliefs

Our Brain is So Powerful

I find this audiobook insightful. Not many people understand depression or other mental conditions. For people who suffer these conditions, it is hard to find ways to cope. I myself deal with anxiety and stress. I do not know how to manage my thoughts and feelings well. This audiobook really helps for people like me who are seeking help

Awesome resource for anyone with invasive thoughts

Coming into this book from the perspective of having an Anxiety disorder and Bipolar disorder with a lot of intrusive thoughts, I was worried that my brain would "get in the way" of the work. I sat down and read it through, really trying to focus on it in a learning way, before doinaudiog the actual work audiobook aspect- so that it sunk in better. I found it easy to understand and straight forward
