*DETECTIVE HOLE IS NOW A MAJOR NETFLIX SERIES*

Harry is on a special mission.

Detective Harry Hole arrives in a steaming hot Bangkok. The Norwegian ambassador has been found dead in a seedy motel room, and Harry has been sent to investigate. It's clear that the Ambassador's family are hiding some secrets of their own, but few people are willing to talk.

He needs to solve a crime and avoid a scandal.

When Harry lays hands on some incriminating CCTV footage, things only get more complicated. The man who gave him the tape goes missing, and Harry realises that failing to solve a murder case is by no means the only danger that faces the unwary.

But in an unfamiliar city, who can you trust?

Eleştirmen yorumları

If you’ve never read any Jo Nesbo, now is the perfect time to check out his excellent Harry Hole series
As with the Australian setting of The Bat, Hole's first outing, we're again terra incognita (Asia here); Cockroaches, organised with greater concentration than its predecessor, turns out to be one of Nesbo's most accomplished novels
Set to be another sure-fire hit
You'll be utterly enthralled
Beguiling as ever... An absolute treat (Deirdre O'Brien)
Cockroaches will thrill Harry Hole addicts. It's classic fast-paced, edge-of-the-seat style
Shows how far Nesbo has honed his skills (Mark Sanderson)
It's fun to see Nesbo finding his feet with Hole...and he weaves a large cast and a complex plot into a satisfying plunge into a filthy south-east Asian underbelly, ripe to bursting with corruption, exploitation and cruelty
Avoiding a scandal is supposed to be Hole’s first priority but, of course, our favourite dyspeptic detective discovers more than anyone bargained for (Siobhan Murphy)
Another gem from the Norwegian author

I've decided to read these in order (mainly as I've only just found them and lucky for me this latest release was not out of sync) as I normally start in the wrong place! Enjoyed the first book very much so moved on to this one. Great book and the narration by Sean Barrett is excellent- he really makes the book and is Harry Hole! I'm now half way through book 3 and enjoying that just as much- will definitely get through the series.

Great book with excellent narration!

A passing comparison with something equally as creepy but why Jo Nesbo titled the novel thus, is within his gift. The name of the book takes nothing away from the sleuth that is Harry Hole. The thread is just as twisted and is cleverly hidden right until the end. There is more of Harry's back story so we are getting to know him more.
The narration fits ever so well and for this listener, Sean Barrett is Harry Hole.
I asked my family for Audible credits as Christmas presents. So I'll be checking out the next Hole novel.

why Cockroaches?

Not in the "Suspense Thriller" category. One of the most complicated explanations for a murder I've ever heard. Reminds me of Dusty Bin.
Sean Barrett as a great narrator, but a convincing Norweigean accent isn't his strength.

Just a police investigation

Very enjoyable if a bit long and gruesome in parts. Not very much about cockroaches!

Gruesome!

Great story, though a bit slow in places, but read incredibly well by the narrator!

Good story, well read!
