Summary

Kaiden Jericho's life has been about rocking it like a solo artist, now he has to deal with a partner.

Who is he going to work with, and will that partner be able to handle him...including his (shall we say) slightly inflated ego of himself? Even if that ego is deserved, just a little?

Chief is learning to be a little more supportive, except when Chief of Security Wulfson decides a few students deserve a little more intense training.

With all of the additional injuries Kaiden suffers in his extra-curricular training, will he succumb to the blue goop pain killer?

You don't become the best of the best by staying alive. With the Animus, you are closer to perfection with each death you suffer.

For Kaiden Jericho, he'd rather skip the death part, thank-you-very-much.

Includes special note from co-author Michael Anderle.

Naive at times

Its a war school. Sho its a little to easy going. The character treat every thing like a game... I suppose it is. May be I dont like the theme. But the book has interesting plot coming up sho I guess I'll read more books later on.

Hilarious

Once again the snerky dialog between the characters kept me laughing and the story me emersed in the world. I hadn't even gotten through half before I popped in an got the next book in the series.

Not much appended

I'm starting to get the feeling this is one of those books that won't lead anywhere. School settings need either character development or something to make it risky. The characters are never at risk and there was barely any development. I'll give the 3rd book a chance and quit if there is no progress. The writting is ok to good, otherwise, but it needs something extra.

Superficial, poor plot

The characters are just stupid and superficial, the first book was decent this one is just awful. The dim witted conversations between the characters is tedious. I couldn’t finish the book and I’m now done with the series as a result.

Eish, I should have considered this before buying.

I think Josh and Mike have done a great job of segmenting the story into game levels which, in concept works well, however I was a little under-awed by this book. I think that the threads of the story can go in so many directions such as the "Real world problems" with inter-galactical relations, school politics, character relationships etc but it sticks steadfast to the yearly progress...I must admit to getting a little bored.

The standout for me is the main characters AI - snarky, funny and I cant help picturing an old, grumpy cowboy....

As I travel quite a bit I would probably come back to the series for "between airports" listen.

Great sequel to the series

Training continues and our heroes are starting to feel the effects of whatever plot is being hatched around them. This is a really good follow up to the first book, my only thoughts were it needs a bit more world building so that you can grasp why the school exists and the role that the state of politics and corporate interactions will be playing in the development of the story line. I am looking forward to the next installment.

way too short

good series, but each year should be one book. I have listed to well over 350 audio books and I hate hate hate when a story in less then 10 hours, that's 2 days tops of story for a listener like me, the story written is good enough to make me listen to them all, but because of the short size of each I won't register. just my two cents.

Book 2 not as good

I really enjoyed book 1, Kaiden's E.I. really made the story more enjoyable for me, the narrator, Scott Aiello, does a fantastic job. In book 2 the story slows down and starts to drag on, assigning points to his character really turned this book into another litrpg. That is when I realized it was going to be.."just another boy outcast in school getting into a full immersion type of game. I do not believe I would make it through another book.

Could not finish

I wasted a credit. Shallow development. Had potential, but I did my best to finish, but just could not make myself waste any more time. Needs a lot more editing. Less redundancy and predictable plot. No real story line progress, at this rate the main character is still going to be in the academy doing the same things by book 12. Books 1 and 2 should have been 1 book and fleshed out better.

Disapointing after the first book in the series

I was excited to listen to Co-op after really enjoying, Initiate, the first book in the Animus Series. Given what the narrator had to work with, I think Scott did a very good job.

Whereas I kept thinking of E. E. "Doc" Smith during the first book, this book is much more of a LitRPG novel without actually being a LitRPG novel. To me, it's like the authors put in the work on the first novel to make it a winner and then were more interested in making the contract deadline for this one.

There remains a lot of potential to make this into a truly epic series. Unfortunately, I doubt that the authors have the chutzpah and passion to make it happen.

Loved it

As someone who grew up in the south I appreciate the sense of humor of the capital MC and the rest of the cast. The action is amazing my only hope is that there is some form of romantic supply

Enjoyable, but short listen..

I enjoy the characters, atmosphere, and flavor of the story. Constantly curious to hear/read what will happen next.

My only down side is the short length. I can use my monthly credit on a 28 hour enjoyable single book, or a 6-9 hour book. The story is great and really enjoy the books. But they need to be bundled in pairs 1-2, 3-4, etc to justify the credit use.

Crossing fingers the writer keeps up the great work!
