Story
A tragic event called Violet Rain, or Purple Rain led to billions of deaths, civilization collapsing, and monsters roaming the planet. The danger of myths, legends, monsters, and portals to other worlds appearing on Earth has resulted in a surge of magical understanding and technological advancement.
Summary
Climb the tower. Save the planet. Become a Dragon Rider.
Inside the Dragon's Tower, the fate of the world hangs in the balance. To win, climbers from all corners must brave the harrowing floors one by one. Each floor is tougher and the higher the floor, the less success there is. After a hundred floors filled with unique challenges, a prize awaits - a dragon's egg.
To Tem, the Dragon's Tower seems simple from his distant farmland on the frontier. The harsh truth of the situation involves politics, personal sacrifices, and unfathomable struggles to keep advancing. The fate of world rests in the hands of the brave, and Tem is not one to back down from a fight.
Warning: This audiobook has LitRPG stats. It involves gear, attributes, and leveling up. It also is set in a fantasy world with mythical creatures and magic. There is no explicit sexual content but some of the fighting can be brutal.

Worth buying credits just to get this book
Great story, well developed characters, enjoyed the hidden elements of the main MC noble birth, the wolf - who doesn’t want a wolf for a companion and I would so have licked the healer.. who doesn’t need a healer in your team.
Only comment would be that some of the female narrators voices were a little off occasionally.

Oh so very good
The book is really well written and absolutely worth your time and treasure. I'll admit that at the beginning I wasn't really enjoying the story, but wow did that turn around in a big way. We've got an adopted farm boy heading off to the big city and finding out that not everything that glitters is gold. We've got a super corrupt government that is not really helping the people in any meaningful way. I am happy that there is some semblance of romance in the story. I find that as I've gotten older while action adventure is enjoyable, that I really do want some kind of romance in the stories that I read for fun. I like how that part of the story is shaping up. Book 1 does not end on a cliffhanger, but I don't think it would be inaccurate to say that it does end on a bit of a nail biter. As of the time of this review the second and third book are currently available in eBook form on Amazon and at least speaking for myself I'm starting book 2 right away. With that said I always try and point out in the reviews of audiobooks the amazing job the narrators do. I am familiar with Daniel's work and as far as I can tell he usually partners with Rebecca Woods. The lady narrator for this book is Elizabeth Plant whose name I am not familiar with, but she did a fantastic job. Basically, what this all boils down to is a resounding yes, I recommend you picking up this audiobook and checking it out. I loved the story enough that when books two and three get the audio treatment I'll definitely be doubling back to buy those. Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us, the audio listeners, and keep up the good work.

Finally a competent MC
It is so refreshing to experience a MC that is neither whiny nor dumb.
This doesn't mean that he is overpowered, he just takes the time to formulate plans and doesn't make plain stupid decisions.
The backstory and worldbuilding is intriguing. Tem has no real information about the tower and the inner workings, so we learn with him together.
We have a typical nobility vs peasant scenario, but the MC doesn't let everyone push him around, which I welcomed very much.
The dungeon diving and fighting is pleasant, gear rewards are evaluated carefully.
There are a fair share of political intrigues which try to pull the MC in but he is not really willing to play along. Again, very refreshing.
The stakes become higher the longer the story progresses, I can't wait for the next book.
The narration is absolutely fantastic.

where's 2?
this book is a perfect example of an awesome archer litrpg book. it's nice for a change of pace.
now let's go into the cons.
this book (at the end) has alot of drama, and most of the time I forget what the plot was of the end. he saved babies, got a wife he said he doesn't like then proceeds to kiss and cuddle with her. the world building isn't has good as I'd like it to be. I feel like people my get this tower book mixed up with other ones (tc1, rba, tof ect ect), there is an outside world, the Mc does not spend all his time in the tower. basically the gods made a deal and the dragon tower is a base for that deal. dwarves fight for the bad God, humans fight for the good God, if the dwarves win well the planet is doomed and magic is gone, the humans win magic is here planet isn't doomed. so you have to beat the dragon tower to get magic back. now don't get me wrong this series isn't like a land of the rings where there was peace then there's an evil and the chosen one has to defeat that evil to bring peace to the land. there's other problems too. but there are some aspects I don't like about this book. 1st. why are elves slaves? elves are significantly stronger then humans but in all books there slaves. 2nd why is there no magic in the real world? of course I know the answer ( the magic is depleting because of the bet the gods made) but its such a dumb thing to add to a book.
the pros of this book pretty much are on par with the cons. but what makes the pros better is the second book is gonna be better. 1st. narration is good, character progression is good, characters aren't dislikeable, I actually like the Mc. if I were to rank the start, middle, end of this book it'd be, end 1st, middle 2nd, start 3rd.
overall series is good and Is worth a credit and a must buy.

exhilarating
a great spin on tower climbing. the climbers finally have a lot of leeway on their own progress. from farming a specific floor for loot or leaving the tower to attend real world problems and issues or to resupply and pick up where they left off. it has a good balance of personal to political intrigue to keep you abreast of the MC as well as the overall state of the kingdom and world at large. thoroughly and highly enjoyable. recommended and anticipation of volume 2 acquisition is a must!

A farm boy with dreams of becoming a dragon rider goes to the dragon's Tower to be judged and given a class. With the minotaurs and dwarves raiding in the countryside, and the nobles preoccupied with their plots to gain power, his world is about to change!
