We live in a competition loving culture. We love the performance, the big win, the ticking seconds of the clock as the game comes down to the wire. We watch games and cheer, sometimes to the point of obsession, but if we really wanted to see greatness - wanted to cheer for it, see it happen, understand what made it happen - we’d spend our time watching, obsessing on, and maybe even cheering the practices instead.

Story
Legions of self-help authors rightly urge personal development as the key to happiness, but they typically fail to focus on its most important objective: hardiness. Though that which doesn't kill us can make us stronger, as Nietzsche tells us, few authors today offer any insight into just how to springboard from adversity to strength. It doesn't just happen automatically, and it takes practice. New scientific research suggests that resilience isn't something with which only a fortunate few of us have been born, but rather something we can all take specific action to develop.

Questioning - deeply, imaginatively, "beautifully" - can help us identify and solve problems, come up with game-changing ideas, and pursue fresh opportunities. So why are we often reluctant to ask "Why?"

Why do good people so often do nothing when a small intervention could make a big difference? Pioneering psychologist Catherine Sanderson demystifies the mindset of bullies and bystanders to show why courage comes at such a high cost, and how we can learn to be brave. We are bombarded every day by reports of bad behaviour: from sexual harassment to political corruption, from bullying to corporate greed. We believe these things are wrong or even evil, but in practice few of us choose to intercede.

Snoozefest
For the first 7 chapters, the author tells you nothing other than that you should get rid of clutter and reads letters from people saying how wonderful she is. It's nauseating. There are some spurious inferences that people will be luckier, richer and lose weight by getting rid of their stamp collections. Some pretty ordinary analogies and every story is badly dated. It's too hard to relate and practical tips are too few and far between. Zzzzz

more than classic feng shui
I wanted to learn about feng shui and I came across this amazing life changing book.
It’s not the kind of book that will advise you where to place a mirror or where your bed is suppose to be, but goes beyond this issues to something deeper about us and our “stuff” and at what level it can really affect our lives, adding clear advice how to get on.
I now listened to it many times, followed the advice and seeing improvements in my life happening so fast!
Karen Kingston has such pleasurable writing style that makes you listen blissfully to the most valuable information I have received in years.
I can certainly affirm everyone would see their life extraordinarily improved by listen to this book.

A few useful bits but too much self-gratifying
Whilst there is some practical info and a few good tips this book could probably be done in an hour. It feels like a third of it is made up of the author reading letters from people who read it and it changed their lives, relationships and businesses. The music between each chapter- same melody for about half a minute was really annoying. This book could do with some serious decluttering.

Not about Feng Shui
There is very little on Feng Shui in this book rather its book containing classical decluttering principles and touches functional medicine on topics like gut cleansing.
Over all it has made me reconsider what really should be my goal when decluttering and to live at the moment and let go of past and objects which are connected to it regardless how much joy they once gave me.

Where does Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?
I owned the audio cassette version of this book and was so inspired by it that I listened to it several times. Audio cassettes have become obsolete and I no longer was able to listen to it in my car. (Road trips are my best time for listening). I did a search to try and find a CD or digital version to no avail. I decided to try again and am so excited that it's now available!!
What insight do you think you???ll apply from Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui?
Karen really brings home how we drown out the things that we love with things that we don't really care much about.
Any additional comments?
Karen's voice and accent are pleasant to listen to.
