Audible Editor Reviews

"The Story of the Bagman's Uncle" has Dickens' usual ornate language, colorful characters, and bright humor, without the massive length of his more famous novels. This short story has a touch of the supernatural, too - think A Christmas Carol - so expect ghosts! Expect murder! And expect to laugh.... It is a delight to listen to Walter Zimmerman read Dickens with a his wry, English accent, transporting listeners to the dark streets of Edinburgh, where almost anything could happen to our poor protagonist....

Publisher's Summary

Although best known for such long novels as Our Mutual Friend and The Old Curiosity Shop, Charles Dickens also wrote many wonderful short stories with both a supernatural and a humorous twist. This is one of his best.
