    Story
    "A classic worth reading"
If you could sum up The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in three words, what would they be?

    Descriptive, interesting, classic

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ichabod Crane - very well drawn and not designed to be particularly likable.

What aspect of Curtis Sisco’s performance might you have changed?

His performance wasn't bad, but I wasn't bowled over. I suppose there wasn't much of a chance for him to "put on voices" as there wasn't much dialogue.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was relatively short, so I listened to it in two sittings (perhaps "walkings" is more fitting) over the course of one day. It was good enough to warrant one sitting.

    Story
"Hard to believe was written almost 200 years ago"

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a such a great short(ish) story. The descriptions of the people, scenery, and life in the Hudson valley were excellent. Then there's that neat and very ambiguous supernatural element in it as well.

I read this story back in high school eons ago. Loved it then, love it now. It almost feels contemporary despite its age.

Btw, reading it again made me realise the Disney version of this got the look of Ichabod Crane just right.

    "A great story"
What made the experience of listening to The Legend of Sleepy Hollow the most enjoyable?

It was short and so I could listen to it with few breaks.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ichabod because he thinks he's got it all figured out on how to get the girl.

What does Curtis Sisco bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He's a good storyteller. His reading is fluid and easy to follow. He pronounces the words well and doesn't make awkward pauses like other narrators sometimes do.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    A twist at the end

    Any additional comments?

This was a good story that is about middle school level. It's not particularly one that I feel my 7 year old could follow, but a story I plan to share with him in the future.

"The Good Ones Never Get Old"
If you could sum up The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in three words, what would they be?

    Entertaining, humorous, lively

What other book might you compare The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to and why?

Like Rip Van Winkle, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow gives an enchanting view into the dynamics of everyday life in colonial times.

What about Curtis Sisco’s performance did you like?

Sisco does a splendid job giving distinct voices to each of the characters and does so with attention to the story flow.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Listening to this book brings back happy memories of being read the story as a child. I couldn't help but laugh at the foibles of the character.

    Any additional comments?

As you can tell from my earlier comments, I am quite enthusiastic about this experience. If you purchase this version, you will be, too.

    "What A Disappointment"

Though this work is considered a "classic" it must be only due to its age. It certainly should not be considered classic in the sense of being a good story. It is a short story and, I find it to be a disappointment. I could have certainly completed my life without ever having read this book. The language and vocabulary I found impressive. The story I find mediocre.

    "good story, slightly odd reading"

this story is great, a classic, and it's short which makes it nice to listen to while commuting. The reading is nice and clear, but it is a little odd. I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I think the inflections and pauses are a little off. it's kind of like hearing an essay being read instead of a story. It didn't put me off the story overall though.

    "Great story, terrible narrator"

While I enjoyed the story, it was difficult to be enthused by it as the narrator sounded less like a person and more like a text to speech program. It could've been good if read by someone else.

"A Classic Story That Should Be Heard"

For those looking for an audio version of this book, I cannot recommend this one enough. Coming in at only an hour and change in length, it never feels rushed and gives the story the room to breathe that it needs.

Knowing the basics of the story but having never heard it myself, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I suppose it's a classic for a reason!

A perfect listen during the Halloween time of year, or anytime really!

"Classic story, not so classic narrator"

Narrator reads in a monotonous fashion with little variation in (too fast) pace or inflection.

    "No tone"

The narrator on this one seems more interested in talking fast than having any kind of tone or emotion. I mean it's inexpensive and told the story, but I was disappointed.
