Summary

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". A Tale of Two Cities, Dickens' only historical novel, sets personal happiness against the terrors of the French Revolution where the search for social justice sacrifices individual rights. Dr. Manette has emerged from eighteen years of unjust imprisonment in the Bastille. Great performance

A fantastic performance but the book is very heavily abridged and some chapters do feel rather short. The music is great too, although given the short running time there is rather a lot of it.

A Tale well known

A moving story narrated excellently by Anton Lesser. Also to enhance the experience is the appropriate orchestral music to add atmosphere and suspense.
