Summary

“I can't let you face this alone.”

“I don't know. I'm just lonely.”

Summer barbecues and his brothers' renovations keep blacksmith Jackson Riley happy, but he's missing one thing: a relationship. Sweet, sexy Chase helps him with his dating profile and catches Jackson's eye instead. When they trade skills and time, the embers are stirred into a flame of passion. Jackson wants a family tattoo - something Chase's skilled hands can deliver. But Jackson worries when Chase asks him to forge a sword. What could he need protection from?

“I don't have a family.”

Tattoo artist Chase MacLeod can't stop running from his past. When he thinks he's escaped, a letter arrives that throws everything off balance. The fencing lessons he's taking bolster his confidence, and his new flame Jackson steps in and defends him. Then, Jackson makes an offer to open his home and heart to him. Chase must find the courage to face his past.

“Just tell me if they're gone for good.”

Chase wants to stick around and redefine the meaning of family, but the enemy fights dirty. Will Jackson's protection be enough to help Chase stand up for himself? Or will Chase's scars forever close his heart? Despite their best efforts, Chase's worst enemy might just be himself.

Clang is a steamy, stand-alone gay romance novel with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger.

Another pleasant story

Along for the ride as boy meets boy. Some drama but not a lot. Still pleasant to ride along.

Normally love Michael Pauley but there is no Canadian accent happening and he pronounced Québécois (pronounced [kebekwa]) wrong. I think I prefer wrong accent to badly done correct accent so I’m not downrating much.

Lovely couple

I really liked Jackson and Chase. They have lots of fun together and I really liked their chemistry. Even though Chase has a tonight past that he is hiding from these two are there for each other and everything that may happen. I love the way that they narrator made these guys come to life and bring their story to everyone.

Yessss

I really enjoyed this story about Chase and Jackson!
Chase has had a tough life due to the past and the people.
Unfortunately, the past is still haunting him but with the help of his friendship with Floyd and his soon-to-be more friendship with Jackson, he's starting to be more than just the pain and fear of his past has made him.
Jackson is just a big softy, but oh so hot!!! When he decides he wants a relationship, not just a hook up he turns to his friend Chase for help, not knowing his attraction for the other man is mutual.
These two together will melt your heart.
Narrator i mean come on it's Michael Pauley we all love his smooth dream boat voice. He has a way of sucking you into the book so you feel like you are there with Chase and Jackson.

Spectacular

Love Jackson and Chase!! Beautiful story of 2 wonderful characters coming together in a great love story. It’s really sad what Chase has had to go through with his family but I’m glad he’s persevered. I love how loving and protective Jackson is with Chase and they are perfect together. It was great to see Cam and Noah again and I hope to get Thomas’ story soon. Michael Pauley is absolutely amazing in this story. His character voices and his emotions bring this story to life like no other!!

Fencing, Sexy Men, and Great Narration

I somehow missed reading this book, so I immediately downloaded the audio! It is wonderful. Michael Pauley and his wonderful narration add to the great story created by E. Davies. Once again Davies has written a wonderful pair of characters and a swoon worthy relationship!

Another wonderful Riley brother's story

Clang is the second Riley Brothers' book and tells the story of Chase and Jackson.

I loved this book very much from the start, even if at some point I hade some difficulty connecting with Chase's mindset.
The story is a beautiful love one and captures you completely from the beginning to the end.

Michael Puley, as always, is AWESOME at the smithing scenes, which really mate listening to this book, NSFW.

Audio Review
I listened to this book in audio as a second read. I have to say that I really enjoyed the book the first time, but I loved it even more this time. Michael Pauley did such an AMAZING job with the narration and sucked me right into the story. The scenes were sooooo HOT! Holy cow Michael brought such passion and tension into the scenes, and I am in love with him as a narrator. He did a great job getting voices for Jackson and Chase, while keeping the voices for Noah and Cam. It was beautifully done. I will be searching for other books that Michael has narrated for sure.

Story Review
What a great continuation of the series! I was so interested in reading about Jackson and Thomas at the end of the last book, but now I am downright curious about Thomas. I want the next book now!!!

Jackson and Chase met and became friends without thinking the other was interested romantically. They got along well, and this foundation of friendship helped the guys fall quick and hard when they realized there was potential for them to be together. Chase came with some family baggage, and while it said it was resolved, I didn't feel like it was resolved. Perhaps it will come again in the next book, but it seemed to settle too easily. I don't know if I believe they will just let Chase walk away. The good news? Chase has Jackson and his family now, and Chase is able to see what true family is.

I loved this. I can't wait to read about Thomas and his secrets!

Passion and plot lines clash

This book, while having great potential, did suffer from the flaws of the first book in the way it dragged in parts and glossed over others. It's more a matter of balancing all the different plot elements.
Jackson and Chase are interesting characters, they have a lot of promise and I love tattoo artists as characters in general so I was very exited for this story. I was a bit disappointed that I did not get to know Jackson as much as I felt I got to know Chase and his past. You do get the sense that each one brings something the others needs in a sort of puzzle piece way but the story just doesn't pick up the pacing when it needs to. It did focus heavily on their physical relationship, and at times I would have rather had them doing something else to strengthen their emotional bond.

Narration was great like always, Michael Pauley Is a wonderful narrator that can really improve any book with his narration so this was a nice read all in all despite the issues I had with the story.
