Summary

Asphalt was his home as Jensen Grimes tallied miles on his Indian motorcycle to escape from a dangerous life that was too much to bear. Never in his wildest dreams had he fathomed the motorcycle club, Chrome Poppies, would turn into a bloodbath. He was running from them and running from the law, after the body count escalated to exorbitant levels.

When Jensen makes it to a small mountain town in central California, he thought he was in the clear until a precocious young girl, Emilie Dillon, begging for money appears in his life. As much as he wanted to cast her aside, there was something that intrigued him only to learn this child was on the run, too. She was an orphaned eight-year-old girl whose family was slaughtered one fateful night.

Though this put a crutch in his escape plans, Jensen couldn’t leave the girl stranded and offered to protect her, only to find out they were meant to find one another.

Will Jensen sacrifice and surrender himself when he agreed to be a guardian to Emilie? Or is this a well-laid trap set up by the Chrome Poppies MC to lure him?

Loved the narration of Aaron Smith

Jensen Grimes is undercover cop with the Mc. He has been undercover for so long, he lost his wife and sons since they moved on.

Jensen he tries to protect a little girl from being killed along with her family. Amazing book . Great twists and characters.
