Summary

Christine was eating into his mind, burrowing into his unconscious. Christine, blood red, fat, and finned, was 20. Her promise lay all in her past. Greedy and big, she was Arnie's obsession, a '58 Plymouth Fury. Broken down but not finished.

There was still power in her - a frightening power that leaked like sump oil, staining and corrupting. A malign power that corroded the mind and turned ownership into possession.

A wonderful book brought to life

This is one of my favourite King novels and Holter Graham did not disappoint as the narrator. The character's were fully realized and just as I imagined them to be. Very impressed

never gets stale

I read this book for the first time when I was about sixteen. It was my first Stephen king. I loved it. I've 're read it a few times over the years, and most of Stephen kings other books, and in my opinion it is one of his best. His earlier books had a strong continuity and commitment that I think some of his later books lacked. This is the first time I've listened to Christine as an audio book, the narrator is excellent in every way. His voice has a youth full yet wise tone, he was a perfect choice. His voices were so good especially Arnie who's voice changes, subtlety at first. I'm now much much older than sixteen and this audio book stood the test of time for me

Revisiting my youth

Almost thirty-five years after first reading ‘Christine’ I decided to revisit the book and see if it still held its old allure. I wasn’t disappointed, listening to it from this end of my aging telescope gave me new insights and that sweet sense of loss, mingled with the brooding small-town horror, Stephen King encapsulates so well. I love vintage Stephen King and am really enjoying re-discovering his back catalogue.

I'll Never See Cars In The Same Way Again!

I've literally just finished listening to Christine by Stephen King. My head's still 95% in the book and 5% in the real world because it was just so good.

I've read about 40 of Stephen Kings books and I absolutely love them all so far. The storyline of Christine was absolutely excellent, the writing was top class as usual and the narration was so good that I could actually hear character's voices and events going on in my head.

I felt a full range of emotions while listening to this book - everything from happiness to sadness to thrills of fear to shock horror and everything in between.

it's not as gruesome and gorey as Stephen King's Misery but it's close.

I'll move on to another Stephen King book and once I finish that I'm coming straight back to Christine.

Brilliant!

Great narration, was hooked from the first chapter. A simple idea that King in his usual masterly storytelling makes completely believable.

Maybe not one of his best, but still gripping.

I have read so many of Mr King's books, I have lost count! I enjoyed Christine, but not as much as some of his more recent work. (I know this book is relatively old in SK terms now.) The story took a while to get hold of me, but once it did, I was gripped! Still one of the world's best writers.

Stephen King books - meant to be read outloud

Superb narration of a Stephen King classic by Holter Graham.

I am coming to believe that Stephen King books are the best audiobooks out there
