Enjoyable enough

Format: audiobook As with all these cozy mysteries there’s a lot of meandering from the characters and a basic storyline including making the detective look a bit silly, even if it is your husband! But enjoyable enough to listen to whilst you’re doing chores.

A side of murder or is it side line

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the other books in the series. Don't get me wrong it was a fun story but having listened to previous books I felt this one was a bit flat. I think this was mainly because Sabrina didn't do any investigating it was all down to her husband who just seemed to argue with angry suspects and feel stuck. It's great if you want to finish a book all in one go say on a car ride and it is family friendly as it is a cozy mystery (no blood, fighting or swearing). Just don't listen if you are hungry as most of the interviews happen around food. Sabrina is having to put her sleuthing hat away now that she and David are expecting there first child. This doesn't stop a killer striking in Treasure Cove though and it is one of her friends, who just so happens to be going through some troubling times at the moment . With Sabrina out of action David must solve this case on his own with a little help from some pudding and a sweet tooth. The narrator was okay but she sounded like she was whispering all the time and she made David sound old some how. Over all not Meredith's best but still worth a listen if you are a cozy mystery fan.

fab cozy!

Another Great Cozy by Meredith Potts and it left me waiting for the next one. I love this series. I don't know if it is that there is always the food theme to them or just the fact that I love her writing style but I am pretty sure it actually both! Just keeps me able to find a rhythm and do my crafting and listen with audio books or just read and enjoy. love them.

Loved it!

I loved the pace of this mystery! I was really surprised how much I liked the way the story was told considering how the main character had to go about solving the mystery! It was brilliant!

A Sweet Short Cozy Mystery

It's difficult for me to rate this audiobook, as I loved the story but hated the narration. The narrator started out sounding very hoarse. The male voices were too deep. Some of the female voices were too high pitched and cutesy. Some voices sounded more suitable to a children's cartoon than to an adult audiobook. Much of the narration was over-performed. I wish the same original narrator for the series had done this book as well. Despite my loathing of the narration, the storyline was very good. I did enjoy the murder mystery plot, which was excellent. Sabrina initially takes a backseat in the investigation, which is definitely not like her. Her character typically has a feisty personality and won't stay out of investigating when requested to do so. But just when I thought she had turned into a wimp, fate intervened with chance encounters with the suspects. Sabrina ends up helping her police detective husband behind the scenes. It is debatable whether or not the case would have ever been solved without her.

Fun, short, family-friendly cozy mystery

When Sabrina Carlson learns, one fine Sunday morning, that she's pregnant, she and police detective husband David are downright euphoric. That lasts until not much later, when a murder happens in town. Sabrina had talked to the victim not long before, and knew he was troubled, but murder? What happened? Finding out is David's job, and this time, because of the baby on the way, Sabrina is going to forgo her usual participation in the investigation. No, really. They're both completely serious this time! Of course, that's not the way it goes. Sabrina remains smart, observant, and inquisitive, and Treasure Cove is still a small town, where you'll run into people frequently, especially if they happen to be on your mind. It's short, family-friendly, and fun. Recommended. I received a free copy of this audiobook from the publisher, and am reviewing it voluntarily.

FAMILY FRIENDLY LISTENING

CHOCOLATE PUDDING WITH A SIDE OF MURDER is the eleventh book in the Daley Buzz Mysteries series. Each cozy mystery will stand on its own, but the background story of Sabrina’s life is best enjoyed if you read them all in the order of release. I love this family-friendly series, and this is a perfect contribution to the storyline. I love David’s protectiveness of his newly growing family. Having Sabrina trying to be more stand-back, means most of the story was David explaining what he found at work and her helping to brainstorm like a good little wifey at home. This didn’t feel like the Sabrina I’ve come to know. Of course, she couldn’t stay completely out of it… Narration: Another new voice for the Daley Buzz family, Stephanie Quinn did a great job. Her voice is clear and consistent, and she maintains a good pace throughout. I’m not particular fond of the voice she produced for David – he sounds too old – but that’s the problem with coming in to voice a series on the 11th book. Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely. Title: CHOCOLATE PUDDING WITH A SIDE OF MURDER Series: Daley Buzz Mysteries #11 Category /Genre: Cozy Mystery; Short Story Recommended for: 12+ due to content Listenability: OK for ears Received from: Meredith Potts (as an Audible gifted copy)

Oh, my

The author's writing ability is getting better, her dialog is still a bit stilted and awkward. The narrator, however, makes the other characters sound like they have horrible constipation.

Good Narration

Sabrina has other interests now, when murder happens can she stay out of solving. Good story and narration by Stephanie Quinn. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
