Summary

Leonardo da Vinci was a gifted painter, talented musician, and dedicated scientist and inventor, designing flying machines, submarines, and even helicopters. Yet he had a hard time finishing things, a problem anyone can relate to. Only 13 paintings are known to be his; as for the illustrated encyclopedia he intended to create, all that he left were thousands of disorganized notebook pages. Here is an accessible portrait of a fascinating man who lived at a fascinating time - Italy during the Renaissance.

My son really loved this!

He's 6 and into art so we had to stop a lot for me to explain certain things but it's been months (possibly a year) since we've read this and he still quotes some of the info he learned e.g. "Mum I'm like Leonardo da Vinci, I never finish my books!" I had to laugh!

Good kids biography of da Vinci

This was an excellent introduction to da Vinci for my son, but enjoyable for me as well. I like the tone and length for a biography for children. This whole series of books is excellent and my children have listened to these for fun. I have enjoyed them all too. The narrator is great as well. Highly recommended!

Good info. Children's Book

This is a good book with a lot of basic information. It is more a quick summary than a comprehensive biography.

Love Leonardo!

I'm the parent writing this after finishing this audible with my son. we get the audibles to go with the books we are reading. it helps to reinforce what he's read and helps him comprehend better. this was a great read/listen! my son loves art, that's why he chose Di Vinci. he stopped it many times to talk about facts. I can see myself getting more who was books/audibles!
