Brilliant!

A really enjoyable book as both of the kids were enthralled by it (8 yrs +11 yrs) because of the humour, adventure and how everything went wrong for the two brothers. Kept you guessing throughout as to the importance of the maltesers. Some great bad guy characters such as the Fat Man. Great story for the whole family!

great for 8s

A great introduction to crime/thriller for my 8 year old son, he loved it, and hubby and myself found it hugely entertaining and very funny, kept us laughing and listening

Just not our sense of humour

I was hopeful about this as I'm a big fan of 1930's detective movies / fiction, and my boys (aged 8 & 10) generally like both mysteries & humorous books. Sadly, it just wasn't our type of funny.

That's the problem with outlandish situations & word-play as humor - if it misses the mark, it just sounds ridiculous. We did finish it. It did pass the time, but only raised faint smiles. Will not be buying more from the series. Having said that, my youngest did read one (in book form) at school, which is a big plus.

Funniest series I've ever heard or read<br />

Absolutely adore the Diamond Brothers series. Side-splittingly funny. Very good narrator who provides a tense atmosphere.
