Summary

Now as famous on radio and audio as they are in print, the adventures of that irrepressible and ageless schoolboy William Brown have been delighting both young and old for decades. Perpetually scruffy, mud-stained, and mischievous, he is a lovable scamp whose pranks usually end in disaster, for his harassed elders at least. With friends Ginger, Douglas, and Henry (The Outlaws), and the angelic, lisping, thorn-in-his-side Violet Elizabeth Bott, William has rightly joined the literary, and radio, immortals.

This volume of Just William features the following stories:

  • William Holds the Stage
  • William and the School Report
  • All the News
  • Aunt Arabelle in Charge
  • William's Goodbye Present
  • William, The Salvage Collector
  • William's Day Off
  • Entertainment Provided
  • William and the Brains Trust
  • William and the Bomb
  • Listen to more Just William episodes.

    Just Wonderful

A favourite of mine as a child and still brilliant as fatherhood approaches. Martin Jarvis makes the stories come alive. The cutaways at the end are rather brusk, but this does little to take away from the overall excellent.

Martin Jarvis was Born for this!

Would you listen to Just William 3 again? Why?

Some stories you can enjoy as much or more in written form as in an audio version. The Just William stories as told by Martin Jarvis are so much better in audio. Not to take away anything from Richmal Crompton the author since she created William and his world and provided Martin Jarvis with the perfect vehicle to display the wide variety of characters he can portray. He infuses the characters in these stories with so much life and humor, that nothing else compares. I've read some of the stories in print and watched a movie version of Just William on DVD and Martin Jarvis still takes first place as the best and funniest way to enjoy Just William.
