Critic reviews

The final cherub book goes out with a bang ... Strong characters and a cracking adventure with some cool gadgets and Bond-style villains thrown in, this has it all. Great appeal for girls and boys.
This final instalment has got everything fans have come to expect from the series: a gripping read, good plot and characters, and lots of action
Robert Muchamore's NEW GUARD is the final book of his mega-selling and much-loved Cherub series. Muchamore's latest maintains the racing tempo of his previous titles.
An action-packed treat
Packed with action and drama and near-the-knuckle humour, Muchamore has saved his best until last.
Gritty, fast-paced spy plots are a hallmark of the best-selling CHERUB series.
Packed with action and drama and near-the-knuckle humour,Muchamore has saved his best until last
Fast-paced from start to finish, with an abundance of thrills and the return of much-loved former agents, this final explosive chapter in the CHERUB series will not disappoint Muchamore's fans
Pacy writing, punchy dialogue and a gripping plot, it's got it all.
Crackling tension and high-octane drama.
Punchy, exciting, glamorous and, what's more, you'll completely wish it was true.

I disliked that it was the end of such a great series but the rest are no wear as good

The dialog is very smooth

Would you listen to Cherub: New Guard again? Why?

Yes, it takes the characters we know and love, and puts them in a new situation without losing any of the special elements the whole series has.

What did you like best about this story?

The bringing together of new and old characters to work together, a fitting end to such a good series.

Which character – as performed by Simon Scardifield – was your favourite?

Difficult... I would have to say James as he is the character I wanted to be so much. Also as Simon has narrated most of the books i imagine James having his voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending for two reasons. 1) It was the end of the series that I grew up with has has inspired me massively. 2) It was short, enough to close the series, but not enough to drag on (I'd love an epilogue short story - where do all the characters end up in 10/15 years).

Any additional comments?

Thank you Robert Muchamore for this amazing series. Ive been reading the books for 10 years (since you visited my school) and loved every minute of them, they have inspired me to become the person I am today)

Amazing Book and Thank You
