Summary

It is fire season and the hills of Los Angeles are burning. As the Police and Fire Departments evacuate the inhabitants, they find something no one expected: the days-old corpse of a middle-aged recluse who apparently committed suicide. Then comes an even more horrible discovery. Clutched in his lap is a photo album containing photographs of seven young women who have been murdered. Each photograph was taken only moments after the women were killed and could only have been taken by the killer.

One murder per year for seven years, their bodies found in different parts of the city. LAPD homicide detectives had never connected the seven murders. But now with the discovery of the 'death album' there is a link.

Only one suspect had been charged in any of those cases but, with evidence supplied by Elvis Cole, in the end he walked free. That suspect was the suicide now discovered in the fire...and now the police are out for Cole....

outstanding book

loved this book, gripping from start to finish with some unexpected twists in the tale. narrator was excellent too, played all the roles really well. actually sounds like he's on a telephone when the character is on a phone. overall outstanding.

Always great

A little slower than some of the Elvis Cole books, but still a fantastic story, and well worth listening to

Excellent as always

Another gripping story with the characters coming alive, I feel I know Joe and Elvis personally after reading so many of their novels. Love the books, funny and entertaining and though provoking

detailed story with a lot of characters. The narrator read it with a variety of realistic voices.

Poor narration again

Another great story ruined by inept narration. The reported speech was ok but the main narration was often given wrong intonation and drifted off into this dreamy monotone as if they were on drugs. If audible don't improve the standard of their narrators I will be leaving.
