Summary

Chaos Weaving is an anthology collection of individual short stories. These 50 futuristic flash fiction tales tell technologically-based original stories, while weaving interesting concepts about our universe through the experiences of people in these possible tomorrows. While performing futuristic jobs, saving the planet, exploring gravity wells in deep space, peering through lenses to the future, or jumping time portals into the past, these quick tales put you right in the path of the observer in the short story situation.

Chaos is the realm of the future possibilities unfolding, while the weaving is that which has just been done, the present is woven into a historical fabric of the past, layer by layer, weaving the string theory of time into what becomes all of our lives, individually, and collectively. Since the idea behind flash fiction is brevity, these stories use tactile wording and screenplay-like use of describing a scene vividly to convey the setting. Following are some of the great story titles that all envelop a similar futuristic state, but are self-contained individual stories within themselves:

  • "Where Robots Go to Die"
  • "I am not a clone."
  • "Remember Washing Machines?"
  • "Bright Lights, Neon Nights"
  • "Space Garbage Man"
  • "The Mutated Creature Just Wants the Apple Pie"
  • "Bogs of Mars"
  • "The Man Who Flipped the Switch That No One Heard That Saved the World!"
  • "A Radio Transmission from FOZAR-12"
  • "Admirable Admiral Adams"
  • "This Bleeding Heart Bleeds Oil"
  • ...and many more!

In closing, the future is forged at the pace of the present, and the twists and turns that form tomorrow are perpetually altering course by the second. The winding road of chaos weaves our history on a loom holding the fabric of reality up as an image of the collective experience. You control the immediate form your fabric will become by your free will and sentience - choose wisely for everyone, please. This is Chaos Weaving.
