Summary

If all they see are her scars - they aren't looking hard enough.

It was my home run ball that shattered her face. Right along with her modeling career. Now it's my mission to help her rebuild her life. And get her to love the game that she hates. The game that dictates my life both on and off the field.

But when the lines of our friendship become blurred, I worry she'll just be another casualty of my three-strikes rule. The rule I have to protect my money, my future, my heart. No girl has ever broken it. I've never wanted one to. Until now.

The question is...will I let her?

Sweet Caroline

I'm still swooningover it Caden is perfect and utterly amazing. I enjoyed every minute of this book, I laughed, swooned and cursed a tid bit, I wasn't able to put it down until the end. This is really everything I look forward when reading a book, fun, light, swoon-wordy and sweet. The characters are great, the chemistry between Murphy and Caden is perfect and all the nicknames he gave to her where fabulous and a really make the book great. Their friends and family are the best, and I can't wait to read Brady story. The narration is perfect you can't expect anything less from Zachary Weber and Erin Mallon, their performances were absolutely amazing.

Catching Caden

This story travels the emotions, with love, hate and mortification not getting them down. Read brilliantly again by Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber.

Good book

This book was a good read and my first book by this author. I don’t want to give away spoilers but I really enjoyed the story and the slow burn romance although a bit more sexual chemistry between the 2 characters would have made it even better. I did have an issue with the way almost every other girl was written by the author especially her house mates and fan girls. They where all portrayed as hateful, bitches, sluts, seething with jealousy some even going to extreme lengths to get Caden at a party with date rape drugs I mean it was a really over excessive. There was good character development for book 2 and tbh the only thing that’s putting off book 2 is that I’m not a big fan of Erin Mallon the narrator but Zachary is a favourite of mine though so I might give it a go

Awful narration

I am very sorry to say but the male narrator here, Zachary Webber, is awful at narrating..it’s like he is reading a telephone directory minus any intonations or excitement. His narration is very dry, very monotone and about as exciting as a wet match - just drones on without any emotion, inflection or feeling. Honestly, good narration can make or break a listener’s enjoyment and this just didn’t cut it.

She does it again...

Samantha Christy is an automatic credit or purchase for me. Her books are great and this was no exception. 5 Big Stars! Side Note: This is book one of this series, but it does have ties with her Mitchell Sisters and Stone Brothers series. It can easily and undoubtedly will be enjoyed by itself but for the full experience I recommend listening to those first.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love, tragedy, friendships and baseball what more could you ask for! This is a wonderful love story I highly recommended that you have a listen. Samantha Christy is a master at stitching heartache and hot steamy love into a seamless tale. Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber do a stellar job of the narration. Buy this book, you’ll love it ❤️🧡⚾️⚾️⚾️

🧢🧢 Perfection !!!! 👌👌❣

Erin and Zachary, the power narrators!! This was an awesome story and another "homerun" by Ms. Christy. If you haven't read the Stone Brothers novels by Ms. Christy you should and get ready for some wonderful and powerful stories. I like how characters from the Stone Bros were integrated into this book. And I did enjoy when Tony, the former douche bag boyfriend of Murphy finally got his come uppance. Ms. Christy is one of my favorite authors and when Zachary and Erin narrate together it's an automatic gotta use a credit. Can't wait to get to Bradys story. And I love baseball too...!!!! Thank you Ms. Christy for your awesome stories and writing.

Baseball Fever

I didn't grow up watching baseball, but as I got older I loved watching parts of the games, especially the best plays on ESPN. Plus, baseball players are hot of course lol. Ok, back to the book. The storyline was awesome. I'm so glad I trusted the great reviews about the novel, definitely worth the credit. The narrators were amazing as usual, however, if you never listened to Erin Mallon before, beware she tends to drag out certain letters in her words. I don't know if it's an attempt to sound seductive or not, but I know it was distracting according to do other listeners , but I've listened to enough of the books she narrates to know that her overall performance out weighs that little quirk. The only think I wish this book had was more detail in the steamy scenes. It felt like it took so long building up to the few scenes they had, but once they came, no pun intended, it somehow fell a little short for me. Mind you I usually like a bit more kinky, perhaps erotica in my romance novels, but this novel had a great balance and I appreciate that it really told a story, it just would've been even better with a little more detail during the steamy parts. I also want closure as far as the ex boyfriend goes. They had all the impending aftermath all lined up for him and even did right by her with the adoring fans, but the way the story jumped at the end kind of left it up to your imagination, but I would've liked to know justice was served. Anyway, the epilogue was sweet and I love their HEA. I can't wait to read Sawyer's story but I'll read Brady's first and hope I don't get caught in a downward crying spell as we dive into his past in order for him to move on with his life.

A perfect, beautiful romance.

I read this on Kindle a year ago and loved it so much that when I noticed it was now on Audible, I had to snap it up. It was better than I recalled because Zachary Webber is the voice of Caden, and Erin Mallon the voice of Murphy. Audio heaven. I loved this extremely well written romance. It kept my interest from start to finish. I could not press pause. Heroine Murphy is from the Midwest and new to New York City; Caden is a famous baseball player, and they become great friends over time. This friends to lovers romance is beautifully paced. The friendship developed so naturally, that the loving when it came, was warm, tender and heart-stopping. The pace of the sexy times was realistic too, and unlike so many insta-love/lust romance novels these days. The slow-burn to love and sex was worth the wait. All of this worked so well because Caden was an innately good, generous person with sound personal principles (especially in the face of being hounded by determined fans). Small-town girl Murphy was a loveable wholesome character too. The author did a great job creating memorable primary and secondary characters. There is an extended supportive family, and work colleagues for both characters that you easily get to know and love with no effort. Readers of previous novels will recognise some of the secondary characters. This was my first Samantha Christy novel and I found it easy to follow who was who. The reading experience with this book was warm, engaging and loving. I didn’t want it to end. Now I don't have to wait to listen to the stories about Caden's team-mates who appeared in this novel. This author was a great discovery.

Good Story

I've enjoyed every Samantha Christy book so far that I've read. I like that she blends characters from her other books. This book has mentions of the Mitchell sisters as well as the Stone brothers. I like Murphy and Caden. I love all of his nicknames for her and how this is a friends to lover story. I would have like more intimacy in this book but at the same time the way their relationship developed this isn't one of those books that jumps quickly into sex where you scratch your head thinking "that was fast". I always love Erin Mallon and Zachary Weber together.

Very good minus the female narration

I really enjoyed this story, and I love Zachary Webber's narration in all books, but Erin Mallon almost ruined it for me. I will avoid future romance books with her as the female narration. Otherwise, great story.
