The Postcards
I love Victoria Hislop’s books, however, I was slightly disappointed in this one.
Postcards arrive, addressed to a name that Ellie doesn’t know, with no return address, each signed with an initial: A. They brighten her life. However, after six months, they stop.
Ellie decides that she must see the place for herself & as she leaves for Athens, a notebook arrives. She snatches it up & takes it with her.
The notebook tells of a young man’s, presumably A’s, journey through Greece.
Of course, one weak point in the book, in my opinion, the two meet.
It was better on a second listen!

Not my Fave
I love Victoria Hislop, but this book I struggled with, I tried the audio version and the book and couldn't get to grips with either.
Such a shame as I've loved all her other books. This one just wasn't for me.

Charming Vignettes ...
... but didn’t love this as much as I loved all of Victoria’s previous books. I think I would recommend it as an audiobook which is the format I have listened to it and it’s been great to ramble around with this in my ear… I did struggle to get into the paperback I have to admit.

I usually love Victoria Hislop's novels but I was slightly disappointed with this one. I t was really just a collection of very short stories linked together by a journal. The individual stories are good as were the narrations but the book was not what I expected.

Lovely story about some letters that never reach the recipient. A beautifully written book , well narrated and a marvellous insight into travelling in Greece. Well worth a read. I would definitely recommend this book.

Absolutely Fantastic Book! I want to go to back!
I would love to now go back to Greece! Fantastic and intriguing book which evokes passions sn love. I wish this story would come true for me, what I would give to live in Greece.
