A mind-reader, a mob-boss, and a hit-man. What could go wrong? More fun than you can imagine!

"One of the best and rarest gems of the indie book market." (Matthew LeDrew)

Stopping at the grocery store for carrots shouldn't be dangerous, but for Shelby Nichols, it changes her life forever. During a bank robbery, she is caught in the cross-fire and grazed by a bullet to the head, leaving her with the ability to read minds.

Not only is she hearing what everyone thinks about her, but the gunman who shot her is out to silence her forever. In her fight to stay alive she is saved from certain death by a handsome hit-man with ties to organized crime.

This pulls Shelby even deeper into danger, where knowing someone's thoughts can not only hurt her feelings, but get her killed.

USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Colleen Helme offers a clever mix of mystery, laugh-out-loud humor, and pause-resisting adventure in the highly acclaimed Shelby Nichols Adventure Series.

I really enjoyed listening to this book but am still wondering about the slightly misleading title 🤔.
The narrator was excellent but then she had a very good story to excel in.
I loved Shelby's interaction with her family when she first starts to realise that she could hear their thoughts... especially the tin foil 😂😂😂
Both funny and fast paced I firmly recommend this book however I think...It Started With Carrots... maybe a better title 🤔😂

Who's responsible for the title?!!

I read this book years ago and loved it, but I have to say the audio version brings the story to life thanks to the fabulous narrator Wendy Tremont King .

Fantastic!

I get why it’s called ‘Carrots’, I really do, but it’s still not the best title for this book and I bet it might even put people off buying it. It is a fantastic audiobook with well-rounded, likeable characters, and a great plot.

Weird title, great book

Bought this on a whim, didn't expect much but I actually really enjoyed it.
The narration took a little getting used to as the voices sounded similar, but the story was good, I wasn't bored at any point and the characters are well written, will definitely get the next in series.

#I'm now on book 10, still enjoying them, having had a bad one yet!

I thoroughly enjoyed this

Lots to listen to and keep you interested. Not sure why seeking help is so bad, what happened to a problem shared.... our hero does seem intent on being killed.

Good story
