I had a plan to come to SFU and start a new life. Everything was supposed to be normal—easy even. No boys. No drama. My dad coaches here, and we'd already come up with our game plan for the year—go to home games and any practice he needed me at. Which was easy enough until one night changed everything. I thought I'd be able to move on from him, but everything hits the fan when I see him at my dad's hockey practice. Did I also mention that he's my partner for a major project?

Meeting Cleo Jones at a pre-semester party was not on my bingo card for this semester. Hooking up with her the day before meeting her as my coach's only daughter was certainly as far away from my mind as possible. I had a plan. Play the game and show the scouts that I'm ready for the big leagues. But when our project has us getting closer than ever, I can't help but focus on the girl in front of me a little too much.

The story has a great set up that I think isn’t used well enough, it’s a cute fun light hearted read (or listen lol) but I needed a bit more. That’s just down to my specific preferences of liking tension and angst, but if you’re looking for a lighthearted listen then try this!

My main positives: I liked the narrators’ voice especially the female narrator (she might be my fave now) and the side characters are fun, diverse and well thought out. I liked being able to slowly see the dynamics of the next couplings that the author might write about next. The set up of the story is probably the best part though the rest of the story is abit meh.

I barely remember the story except for the setup and the character dynamics so it’s def abit unmemorable overall. I don’t recall their being any moments that like stand out specifically other than the set up.

Great narrators, okay story - needed more memorable moments. Lighthearted cute read.
