Summary

Merman Rigel the Hunter has prayed for an end to his people's curse. Immortality has come with a high price - loneliness. When a beautiful human female - Lyra Harne - is thrown into the ocean, her fate is in his hands. Unable to deny her, he saves her, but at what cost? Living in the lost city of Atlantes, women are rare and this sexy mortal is more than this hard up warrior can resist.

Is the beauty Rigel saves a gift from the gods? Or just another part of their curse? Temptation and desire are no match for fate, and the truth of Lyra's shipwreck just might prove too much for this underwater affair.

Thoroughly enjoyable

This, the third book in the series follows Lyra, who is rescued by Rigel, whilst the rest of her family are lost at sea. The plot is full of danger an passion, there being plenty in this tale, despite it being shorter than the first two books. A good storyline though I wasn’t enamoured with Lyra a a character.

Great short

This book follows Rigel who rescues Lyra from the wreck caused by the Silla . Lyra isn’t as easy to explain things too as Bridget and Cassie were and she gets very belligerent with Rigel and blames him for killing her family.

Another Captivating Read

In this short novella we meet Rigel and Lyra. Lyra took a little bit of warming up to as she comes across very standoffish and anti everything “merr”! But its understandable after what she’s been through. Though it’s short, there’s plenty to hold your attention. Another great addition to the series.

Another wonderful story

This another wonderful story from Michele M Pillow. Rigel saves Kyra when the ship she is on sinks. Due to the trauma of this she walks around in a daze for a time and blames Rygel and his people for the deaths of her family. Over time she see's she is wrong and that she could have a future with Rigel. This is a great story with great characters and plenty of steam.

Nice story

A rescued damsel finds it difficult to adjust to her new world and situation. Great story with interesting and entertaining characters! Hope there will be a story involving one or both of the twins! The narrator did a great job with this short story by providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

not the best in the series

i still enjoyed it, but the FC was not of my liking. hated her attitude. also it was a short book more focused on sex than in an emotional story in comparison to book 1 and 2. but there is still an emotional side to it, that is what i liked more about the story. narrator was good but i don't think her tone is he best choice for this kind of stories.

Rocky road!

Poor Rigel! Of the original three Mer to rescue a human woman, he has the toughest time convincing his would-be bride they are meant to be. This one was scary, sexy, and interesting.

Captive of the Deep!

I enjoyed every bit of this third story in the "Lords of the Abyss" series. It is a stand alone read with some connected characters. The story is fast paced and starts out with a bang and ends with an unexpected surprise. This is a good story and I like the different take on Mer folk and Atlantis. I listened to the audiobook of this story and I thought the narrator did a good job reading. This is about Rigel and Lyra. He rescues her after the ship she and her family is on sinks. She is convinced he killed her family and he is the cause of the wreck. Slowly he wins her over but the real push is his lost brothers death. I love how the relationship grows and develops between them. This is a very interesting and intriguing story with drama, suspense, action and very hot and steamy scenes. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts and these two set the pages on flames.

Another Great Addition to the Series

Michelle M. Pillow has done a great job with this third installment of the Lords of the Abyss series. The characters were well written and endearing while the story line kept my attention. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the story to life and made this a fun listen.

I received a copy of the audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Great read, lots of fun!!

Captive of the Deep by Michelle M. Pillow is the 3rd installment in the Lord's of The Abyss series.
I really enjoy this under the sea world that the author has created. Rigel and Lyra have been my favorite couple so far and I loved that this story explained more about the Silla that are hunted. Excellent audio narration and just a great quick read!!

Intriguing, and Steamy!

Rigel and Lyra This is the third novella in the Lords of the Abyss Series. Rigel and Lyra's story is fast-paced, and steamy. I like this series with its original and ongoing plot, and entertaining storyline. Rebecca Cook did a great job with the narration. Looking forward to listening to Surrender to the Sea, the next book in the series.

The Origin of the Scyllas

Captive of the Deep is about Lyra and Rigel's story. Lyra was the third woman that the Mers have saved that day. Lyra wasn't pleased about being rescued by the Mers while her father and brothers drowned. Since her rescue, Lyra has been giving the Mers the silence treatment. It was the Mers' fault that her family is dead.

Her attitude changes when she walked in on Rigel while he was in the shower. For Lyra, it started out as a way to distract her from her grieve. For Rigel, he was vested into the relationship.

When Rigel made a discovery about the scyllas, he knew that he lost Lyra forever.

The discovery of scylla's origin was a surprised to me. This is definitely a game changing on how the theme of the story will evolve in the series. I can't wait to see how the problem of the scylla will be resolved.

I love that Rigel is an honorable man and that he realizes that if he lied to Lyra, there wouldn't be any hope of having any type of relationship with Lyra.

This is one of the better narration of the story done by Rebecca Cook. It might be the story or the narrator's performance or it could be both. I definitely like this story so far in the series.

I was given this audiobook by the author. I have decided to voluntary write an unbiased review of the book. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.

Spicy!!

Captive of the Deep was a short novella where we get to see what happened with Lyra.
The novella was short and filled with a lot of steamy pages. The spicy level is definitely high and we get to see how Lyra’s inhibitions change once she realizes she is underwater and around merman…especially when she is around Rigel. Their romance is very hot and heavy.
I really enjoyed the epilogue at the end. Especially the message in the bottle. It was sweet.
The narrator, Rebecca Cook did a wonderful performance and used a variety of pleasing tones and inflections to portray several characters. Very easy to follow along.
If you enjoy underwater paranormal romance with some smutty scenes, then check this series out.

Fun twist

I love that this book veers from the previous two. It had a whole different feel and I love Lyras tenacious personality and her determination to do what is right. While it may get her in some hot water she’s quick and witty and overcomes everything throw her way. I also love that we see more into the history of the sillas and the end was super fun!

Hot

Lyra was rescued by Rigel, a merman, from a shipwreck. Since Rigel rescued Lyra it was his job to take care of her. They are requested to go to the wedding of Caderyn and Bridget. Thios short novella is definitealy an erotica book. I liked that it was a short audio/book. This audio is perfectr for the erotica lovers.
