Sir Ranulph Fiennes is uniquely qualified to write a new biography of Captain Scott. This is the first biography of Scott by someone who has experienced the deprivations, the stress and the sheer physical pain that Scott lived through; he has suffered all but the final tragedy endured by the much maligned Scott. He is determined to put the record straight.

As well as being the definitive biography of Scott, written with the full and exclusive cooperation of the Scott Estate, this book traces the way that Scott's reputation has been attacked and his achievements distorted.

'Sir Ranulph Fiennes has done Captain Scott's memory some service...he has certainly written a more dispassionate and balanced account than Huntford ever set out to do.' - Simon Courtauld, Spectator©2003 Ranulph Fiennes Adventurers, Explorers & Survival Historical Düşündürücü Biyografi

A realistic unbiased book , at last giving a true hero some of the credit he and his intrepid companions deserve. Debunking the debunkers !

very informative and detailed.

I can only congratulate Sir Ran Fiennes for seeking so earnestly and conscientiously to examine fully the events around the fateful Scott expedition to Antarctica. It is a fascinating, measured and thoughtfully rendered account. For me it rings a faint bell of hope that the days of ignorant detraction for the sake of it, based on the detractors’ own lack of self worth and hang ups may be one day be numbered. We live in an era of detraction and gratuitous vitriol and with great tact and delicacy Fiennes decries the perpetrators with no thought of advancing himself. Balance can and must be restored. This book takes a big first step towards it.

Well written and well read by the author.
A great in sight to an epic adventure by real men. Eye
opening to the devious author Huntford too, what a sad little twisted person.
it's made me se of Scot and his achievements in a different light, the right one. Thank you.

An amazing true adventure story I thought I knew.
Told with honesty and experience only a true polar explorer could give you.
It doesn't make me want to follow in Scott's deep icy footsteps but wow what a group of Incredibly brave and nobel men they were.
