Summary

The rule: Get married and have a baby.

When Grandpa Stinson dies, he expects nothing more than to keep his grandsons together, running the family's multibillion-dollar business. But he's got just one unfaltering rule: They have to get married and have a baby first. The brothers disagree...wholeheartedly.

But it's set in stone. Follow the rule, or you're the one grandson out of luck....

Stubborn, rugged, but oh-so-sexy Roark Stinson, the oldest brother, refuses to give in to his grandfather's manipulations. After all, women are the root of all evil, and he's never witnessed a relationship that actually works. Then it hits him; it doesn't have to work.

Roark just needs a warm body to agree to the terms....

Zoe Morgan never wanted to be anyone's "means to an end," especially not Roark Stinson's. But his proposal is one she's in no position to refuse - can't refuse. When the stakes are this high, a warm body might just be exactly what she needs.

Maybe - just maybe - Grandpa Stinson knew exactly what he was doing....

Excellent

I loved everything about this book. Not only was it an excellent story but the narration was very good also. This story gave me all the feels. I cried and I also laughed. Zoe was a very strong woman. Roark was a very patient man. Their love snuck up on both of them.

Can Love Bloom Under Forced Circumstances?

This was an interesting story that was packed with emotion as both Zoe and Roark are forced to do things they don't want to. Zoe has lived the last few years of her life working 3 jobs just to keep ahead of bills from her car accident and to care for her ailing grandmother. Roark may live in luxury, but his grandfather's death and subsequent reading of the will states that he and his brothers will only get their inheritance if they are married with a child on the way withing a year. When they literally bump into each other, it sets in motion a series of events that leave them each seeing the other as their way out of their problems. But the road to the HEA is not an easy one, full of bumps and stumbles.
The narrator did a good job with this book bringing all the emotion and characters to life. I would have liked a little more vocal variety in the voices, but overall still a great listen.

Enjoyed book & Audio - Simply Fabulous!!!

I read this book when it first came out. When the opportunity to "hear it" came along I could not resist. I remember really being impacted by this on first read. Listening was like visiting an old friend. I listen on my commute and literally was laughing driving down the road. I might have had to use my tissues too.

The characters come to life. The situation is extreme. The emotions come across so strongly. Dive into this book/audio - you will not be disappointed!!

So much to love....

I thought that there was so much to love about this book.....and love it I did up to a point. The writing was well done, the plot entertaining and the characters engaging. Overall, I thought the book offered a wonderful blend of drama, emotion, humor, heat and heart. Roark as a hero was all kinds of swoon worthy and I fell head over heels for him. Zoe is where things kind of went wrong for me. To start I was really loving her. I admired her and felt horrible about her past. I sympathized with her feelings and how badly she was treated. But then....yes then. I refuse to give spoilers and ruin the book for others but lets just say I did not agree with her actions and was definitely not happy with how she tried to spin things. This basically ruined this character for me and in the end I wished not only that Roark had fallen for someone else, I felt he deserved someone better. Still, the book itself was a good read. Only single narration on this book but the narrator had a pleasing voice that I thought worked well with the book.

Sweet Read

Zoey and Roark are so good together. They both have overcome so much in their lives, one well off and one not so much, but they managed to survive. When faced with some hard choices they both make mistakes but grow through them.
I really liked this narrator and love this story with a sweet HEA.

I despise d Zoe

I started out empathizing with Zoe for all her problems and past, but the more I read about her the more I came to loathe her. She did things she accused Rork of. She was ambiguous in actions and deeds. She took a deal and money, then turned on Rork for the offer. Rork went overboard trying to please someone who couldn't be satified. He did so much for her and was repaid with immaturity, shrewishness, and plain ordinary ignorance from an ungrateful girl that enjoyed being a martyr. It was hard for me to keep listening to Zoe being a biotch and I almost DNF, because I was done with her behavior and attitude. He did everything for her and she just took and took. So disappointed in Zoe. The narrator did an exceptional job with voices. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review.

A strong emotionally fueled love story

Back in one of my favorite Texas towns
to an amazing, emotional love story. A woman with a hard, tragic background, a workhorse to keep her beloved grandmother safe and loved meets a man who she believes has everything. But there is something he desperately needs. Even though they seem to be physically drawn to each other, will that be enough to overcome their different needs. The narrator did a great job of portraying the characters strong emotional feelings, his Zoe character would once and a while come out to young, but the emotions we're still there. Overall a great audible book, don't pass up this great love story .
