About this listen

James Blackwoad loves order, systems, and figuring problems out. His only real problem is dealing with office politics and a Director at his work that seems to have it in for him. But when computer systems start to become infected with a new virus, he is quickly thrown into a world of cybercrime, government agencies, and far more danger than he realizes.

What is CANTIUS? Who created it? And who is willing to destroy him to protect it?

I really enjoyed this book. I like a wide range of books but I am a mystery fan by heart. I didn't really know what to expect with this book but I have enjoyed previous books by this author, so gave it ago. Glad I did, I was a bit worried about how much was going to go over my head, not being a Tec whizz but it wasn't like that and I found I really got hooked into the story. There was Tec talk (well it is a cyber crime story) but the author is gifted with words and I never felt that I didn't understand anything. The fact you never know where the story is going to take you, is what makes the story so interesting and a frightening thought that it could happen in real life. I hope there is a book two in the works.
When James is called into work in the middle of the night to fix a computer glitch he has no idea that he will be pulled into a world full of hackers and government conspiracy. He quickly learn that it is called Canitus but with so little information about it on the web he turns to the dark net for help. Making himself a target for the creators and with a government agency's also warning his to back off he is left with a big problem. To get to the bottom of the virus or just ignore it?
I liked the narrator and thought he did a good job with the voices in the story.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
