Summary

From USA TODAY best-selling author Traci Andrighetti...

Halloween is looming large in New Orleans, and Private Investigator Franki Amato is in a gloomy mood. Her boyfriend, Bradley, has to leave on an extended business trip, and her slacker brother is coming to town with her matchmaker Nonna, who’s determined to see a Sicilian lemon superstition bear fruit. Meanwhile, the entire city is spooked because a caped figure is targeting its blood banks.

Things turn macabre when a psychic makes a dark prediction about Franki’s brother and a frat boy is found in a cemetery crypt with his blood drained. As bad luck would have it, Franki is hired to investigate the murder by the number one police suspect, an 18th-century vampire impersonator. A detective acquaintance offers to team up to find the killer, but he’s interested in more than Franki’s professional input. To solve the case, she goes solo into NOLA’s vampire community and immerses herself in local vampire legends. Can Franki prevent another bloodletting? Or will the next blood spilled be her own?

{gag!} Franki Amato just gets worse

The main protagonist of this series is really awful. Worse in this book than in the previous three.

She's won't stand up for herself so she's stuck with:

- A dismissive and hyper critical "best friend" (who, frankly, needs slapping)
- An overbreaing and interfering grandmother (likewise with the slapping)
- A liberty-taking policeman (who needs telling it's no wonder his wife dumped him).
- A bullying drag-queen (who needs to be told to go do something anatomically improbable to herself)
- A freeloading brother (who needs throwing out on his ear)

Instead of standing up to any of them, all Franki does is continue to embrace alcoholism.

As with the previous books the mystery is good, but the main protagonist sucks dead bunnies... backwards... through a straw...

I couldn't listen to the end - I stopped caring what happened because Franki-the-doormat is so irriatating.

Campari Crimson

This was a fun, vampire inspired mystery.I enjoyed the relatable names tossed in.I found the storyline a bit frazzled. Madeline Mrozek was a very good narrator. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

Franki...

These books are lol funny... like for real laugh out loud. But Franki is not my fave character... I kinda wish the story was told from Veronica's perspctive... or there is a spin-off story about Glenda. Franki is very frustrating to me... especially her relationship with Bradley. Franki is very immature and an aeful girlfriend. Her family is extremely irritating but funny... but more irritating than anything else. I like this series for the laughs and the characters... the way Franki solves crimes Im always thinking there is a better way to go about this. But its entertaining and I will stick with the series.

Franki is not ready to chase REAL Vampires

Franki Amato is living her life as a PI in New Orleans. Things are going well. Her and her partner are solving cases. She has a wonderful boyfriend...that her family wants her to get a proposal from. She doesn't expect the next cases to be based around Vampires. Traci begins investigating murders based at blood banks around NOLA. All the evidence keeps leading to possible vampires and their history in the city. While the case has her unnerved, her Grandmother and brother move in to her small apartment. Her brother is supposed to be creating a life in NOLA too, but he conveniently seems to just be enabled by Nonna. Nonna is intent on getting Franki engaged, so she resorts to Italian traditions. As always, Traci Andrighetti creates a keep you guessing mystery with lots of laughs. Since she is living with Franki, we get to see more of Nonna than the occasional phone call. She is such a great character. I really can't wait to see where Franki's next adventure takes her. Love the narrator! Easy to understand change of person. Intonation perfect based on situation.

Love this series!

This is book four in this series and I have listened to all four of them on Audible. It’s the same narrator and she does an excellent job! This was set around Halloween with a vampire theme! I think the author does a great job giving you a feel of New Orleans and the culture. I learned a few things about vampire culture in general too. A fun book where I find myself laughing at different parts especially with Franki’s ex-stripper land lady! The cast of main characters is pretty much the same except for an introduction of Franki‘s brother. These books would not be the same about her mother and Nona who always is meddling in her love life! A little tension between the police detective Sullivan and Bradley that was kind of fun! Enjoy!!

Can’t wait for the next one!

I enjoy how the author includes so many family members and captures the culture and heritage of family members and combines them with the diversity of New Orleans and it’s unique charm.

Madeline Mrozek, as always, gives a great believable performance.. can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series!

Great Listen

WOW! My fourth read, and first full-length read, from entertaining author Traci Andrighetti. As good as the shorts were this one was outstanding! Characters so well-developed that by this time you feel like you know them and are invested in them. Narrator Madeline Mrozek adds greatly to the listening enjoyment. I'd previously read this book on my Kindle and the Audible version was very much worth the re-read because of her. I was given an Audible edition of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I need to get more books in this series by this outstanding author.

Franki and her New Orleans cases never cease to amaze you. With all the fun/crazy you can imagine or think up. The book will keep you on your toes and laughing throughout. Nonna and her friends always turn into a bigger help than you think in the beginning, and these ladies are so much fun. This time she's investigating vampires and boy does the big Easy take its Vampire stories and heritage to the extremes. Just when you think the cop nonna seems to love is a good guy though you may want to think again.....I just love the series and can't wait for more. Traci Andrighetti keeps the series/cases new, fresh and full of fun. Madeline Mrozek does a fantastic job on the narration.
