I was very excited to listen to Reuben and Xavier's story after seeing both characters pop up in previous books. I can say that it was well worth the wait. Both main characters are complex but very likeable, their back stories are revealed as the story moves along. I also loved that this one was set, in part, in the Scottish Isles and Joel Leslie gets to bring out his wonderful Scottish accent for Reuben. Well worth a listen!

Third in the series, this book brings in fresh characters while giving us some lovely cameos from past favourites. There was a lot of hurt between these two, along with anger and a real sense of helplessness, which really drew me in.

I liked their dynamic, particularly Xavier, who could be both fiercely protective and vicious in the middle of his heartbreak. There’s something compelling about that combination, and their relationship kept me invested.

Story: Perfect mix of amazing MCs and Lily Morton’s trademark snarky humor. The book had me smiling so much and plucked all the right strings! Loved everything about it!
Narration: Great performance from Joel Leslie. I admit that for a non-native English speaker the accents were sometimes a bit of a challenge, but it did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the story. Lily and Joel are a match made in heaven!
