I've been a Scottish hillwalker for many years. I'm half way through walking all of Scotland’s peaks over 3000 feet and fortunately I have never need to make that dreaded call.
However, after listening to his stories I can see room for improvement in my preparation. I am in awe of all the men and women who risk their lives to rescue others. This book is fascinating and well worth a listen if you have a love for the great outdoors.
I share John's love for the hills and also see the huge risk that a younger, less prepared and appreciative walker now manifest. All Scottish walkers should have a copy of his book.

Respect.

Sometimes the narration made me tone out but I do love a Scottish accent. Definitely makes me want to go out and explore Scotland; but not without a proper plan and compass

An in depth view of how the MRT's train, work and succeed in rescuing those unfortunate enough to have found themselves lost, and/or injured.
Intelligently and thoughtfully written, I found this book completely absorbing.
Perfectly narrated by David Monteath.

Interesting from start to finish.
