Summary

Have you wondered if it is possible to kick depression out of your life without resorting to medication?

Most depression-related medication can have a series of harmful side effects that sometimes leave patients in an even worse state than before.

Cognitive behavioral therapy has been one of the most successful methods of treating and eliminating depression, anxiety, and negative thought patterns with little to virtually no side effects.

Here's some of what you can expect to learn inside this audiobook:

  • Discover exactly how to dismantle the most damaging automatic thoughts
  • How to develop a solid foundation of core beliefs so that external factors have little negative impact on the way you think
  • Learn how to take in situations with a more positive perspective and make it a long-term habit
  • How to avoid the most common CBT mistakes that can greatly hinder your progress towards recovery
  • Proven methods to relax your mind and body and disrupt stress and depression patterns

Other than following the advice inside this guide, no previous skill or specific knowledge is required to get started with CBT.

There is a large amount of CBT practitioners that have learned how to harness emotions and thoughts to "rewire" the way their mind works for good.

Unlike depression or anxiety medication, the CBT principles will reward you with long lasting results when correctly applied to your life.

There is no better time to start the journey towards a healthier mind and body. Start by practicing CBT today!

Learned a lot!

I really enjoyed the approach this book takes. It encourages you to go through slowly, one chapter per week, doing the exercises and really thinking about how you feel and why you feel that way. The book encourages you to change aspects of your thinking and your behavior by suggesting alternative ways of being. A lot of the material proved to be an eye opener for me. It is essential that the listener takes the time to write down their thoughts as requested throughout the book. Take the time to review these notes as you progress through the book, you will learn a lot.

Great resource

Excellent book! Can be used for your self or for patients and clients. Broken down into steps and is in understandable language for the lay person, yet suitable for the professional. Definitely a book to get and keep. A great resource for anyone who is interested in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Best audiobook

This was the best book I have used for anxiety and panic attacks. I haven’t ever thought so in depth to what the root cause is of my problem. I use to not be able to leave my house, this book helped me get myself out of the house (anxious) but get the right mind frame to do it. I have tried several different CBT books and even been to a few therapists and nothing helped me like this book.

Great for rewiring thoughts

This is a straight forward, easy to understand CBT book. It explains what you are doing every step of the way, and is really very helpful. This is still a very good book, and while I'm far from finished with it, I've already begun to experience some relief

Highly recommend

After being in a rehabilitation program that focuses on CBT, this book is a great refresher to help after you leave. I had a more severe case of anxiety and depression which required a more inpatient program. After I left, I struggled to keep up with the daily activities that I needed to do. This book was great to help me keep on track. I highly recommend if you can't go to into a program but want to learn the same information.

Well organized

This is a great book and had been helping very much. I just want to know if it works, not your life story - it's supposed to me about me so get to the point author. I find myself going back to it when mini issues are happening. It helps to keep me grounded and organized in my own head.

Amazing!

I bought this book Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Made Simple, and I have been using them concurrently. And I love it! I have tried to get help multiple times in the past and have been unsuccessful in those attempts. These books are amazing if you are like me and don’t necessarily appeal to the idea of sitting and spilling your life story to someone across a desk. They are easy to listen and easy to follow. Other CBT programs I have listen about sounded almost childish in getting you to think about your thoughts and feelings and being mindful. But these help encourage you to get your life back into your own hands and take control. They are amazing!

Awesome techniques!

I bought this workbook to familiarize myself with CBT techniques and its foundation. The book is written clearly, without any complicated jargon and the examples provided are easy to relate to. I would highly recommend this workbook to either a a self-help or for someone, like in my case, wanted to learn more about CBT and gain quick knowledge about using CBT model with depressed individuals.

Step-by-step program

Rather than just presenting information about CBT, the book presents a step-by-step program that listeners can follow along with to improve their own lives and start getting over anxiety. This is a great option for anyone who feels powerless when they are overcome by their anxiety and is looking for an actionable way out of that feeling.

Made optimistic!

Anxiety is a word we use for some types of fear that are usually to do with the thought of a threat or something going wrong in the future, rather than right now. Fear and anxiety can last for a short time and then pass, but they can also last much longer and you can get stuck with them. In some cases they can take over your life, affecting your ability to eat, sleep, concentrate, travel, enjoy life, or even leave the house or go to work or school. This can hold you back from doing things you want or need to do, and it also affects your health.

Fantastic listen!

Fantastic listen. This is the fundamental authority in the realm of CT. For adept listeners looking for insights of CBT, this is a great tool. I would suggest pairing this book with individual studies and meta-analyses of CT's effectiveness in different mental health realms. Top university clinical programs in mental health research and instruction utilize this book.
