Publisher's Summary

A former Navy SEAL sniper turned media CEO and New York Times best-selling author teaches business leaders how to make the best decisions under pressure.

Over his four deployments as a Navy SEAL sniper, Brandon Webb learned all about performing while experiencing heart-pounding stress. After returning to civilian life, he started his first business venture - and failed miserably. He realized that his big mistake was neglecting to apply what he already knew about focus under pressure. By drawing on the lessons of his SEAL training and early business struggles, Webb went on to build a second business, a media network called Hurricane, which today has an audience of millions and a valuation over $100 million.

Now Webb deconstructs the decision-making DNA of the most effective snipers and shows you how to develop the same mental acuity in civilian life. Drawing on stories from his own experiences and those of other Special Operations warriors and great entrepreneurs, like Solomon Choi of 16 Handles, Matt Meeker of BarkBox, and Betsy Morgan of The Huffington Post and TheBlaze, he teaches you how to have total situational awareness to stay out of danger and adapt to changing circumstances, to avoid the trap of overanalysis, and to understand that pain is temporary and learning is priceless.

By following in the path of a generation of legendary snipers, you'll find the clarity of mind you need to make key decisions and accomplish your mission, whatever it takes.

    "Ironically Not Excellent"

The voice of the narrator comes off as smug and arrogant. Not fitting to my impression of Brandon.

It also felt pretty heavy with self promotion of their website, which due to their many branchez seems to lack the focus preached in the book.

Unfortunately the forum community that is part of the site is nearly dead. a few first time intro posts with at most 40+ online users.

For all the boasting about the brilliance of Brandon's online media site, the good information thay he had to offer felt light in comparison.

It is a shame as he is obviously knowledgable, talented and intelligent. Especially given his access to such an amazing community, their resources and shared accomplishments.

I couldn't help but feel towarxs the end the book waz really about upselling his websote than about teaching his readers.

Even worse it feels his site is already sold as if he took already took a deal. I see the shell of the initial heart and intent, but the community aspect feels like an empty husk now.

There is great work, but it feels as if it is wilting and he has moved onto a new plant in the garden, just like the analogy he used in his book.

Sorry Brandon, there is good here, but I feel you lost focus in your book and just started promoting the next product for me to buy towards the end.

    "A MUST READ!"
If you could sum up Total Focus in three words, what would they be?

    Excellence Matters!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Total Focus?

More than one...but Brandon's life examples and some phrases hit home for the dumbest of listeners -- Case in point!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Business life of Brandon

    Any additional comments?

This is staying on my iPod so I can listen to it again and again.

    "Straight forward business sense"

I cannot say that any single bit of information in this book is new. However, Brandon has done a fantastic job of sticking to the fundamentals of business and giving a very concise explanation of whys and why nots that every entrepanuer needs to know in order to succeed!

"Great read - life will not be the same"

I'm glad that I grabbed this book on a whim before reading the comments. Man this guy has a small community that LOVES to hate him. he actually mentions it in the book. I have no knowledge of this ongoing feud but I gained a lot of positive perspective from how Brandon seems to have tackled the issue. The books was a compelling read. I didn't want to put it down. I got the book on audible and I'm looking for a notes companion or else I'll pick up the paperback to copy quotes from, highlight, and reference later.

I'm finding myself quite inspired by Navy Seals turned CEOs. There is a clear connection between successful traits.

    I also loved Extreme Ownership.
