In 2011 when I started using Google AdWords to get clicks to my website and promote my business online, I wasted thousands of dollars getting clicks I did not need and hundreds of hours working with the ads only to get my account suspended as soon as I got a positive ROI.

By 2012, I started managing Google AdWords for clients based on my experience failing to do my own ads successfully. Amazingly, client ads were often easier to do than my own and inspired me to try a new approach to AdWords using YouTube advertising, also known as Google AdWords for video. YouTube now is my biggest asset online thanks to YouTube advertising and continues to help me build deeper relationships with followers and customers that just watched one video.

Four years after I got my first AdWords account suspended, I gained enough courage to try again on advertising my online courses with a new website and new business model. From the beginning, I was getting sales for $20 in ad spend and eventually got down to sales consistently for $5 with display ads and $8 with search ads. When this was combined with the higher ranking on Udemy and the organic search traffic follow up from students sharing the courses, my work on Google AdWords became part of a multimillion dollar sales system selling courses online. That sounded impressive right?

    "it's so slow paced- taking lots time for not a lot"

    too many/ too detailed/ repeating stories of the authors personal experiences. it's like listening to someone in a pub over a relaxed subject. honestly it's taking too much time. not like any 'books' or any audio books I've purchased, or will likely to purchase!

    "This is not a book, it's a podcast."
    What would have made The Complete Google AdWords and YouTube Advertising Book better?

    This "book" is simply a series of hour long podcasts which the author has labelled "chapters". He even addresses how he is hasn't prepared but is talking off the cuff.


    What could Jerry Banfield and Michel Gerard have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Actually write a book - e.g. research a topic that you have experience in come up with some great conclusions. Have some great content. Instead this was a series of ramblings, 90% of which was about himself. 1/10 for content.
    I'll be asking for a refund. If I wanted to listen to podcast ramblings I'd pay nothing for it instead. I especially wanted a book because books have content.

    "Jerry Banfield is transparent. "

    I just finished this audio book and I will have to commend Jerry on his transparency.

    I do feel 80% of the time, he repeatedly whinned through out the book about the same misfortunes and talked more about himself vs teaching adwords and youtube advertising.

    You could tell the book was more of a freestyle approach vs structured.

    Nice guy though.
