Summary

In Speak to Win, Tracy tells you how to master the art of the winning speech - and use it to achieve your most impossible-seeming goals!

Phenomenally successful people know that speaking well can help them gain the respect of others, make them tremendously more valuable to their company, and get them positive, enthusiastic attention from influential people who can open important doors for their life and career.

Your ability to confidently address an audience of any size or type is the key to supercharging your ascent up the ladder of life - not to mention that people who speak and present well are instantly and naturally assumed to be more talented and intelligent than those who don't.

The art of speaking can be systematically learned, and if you have the desire, discipline, and determination - not to mention one of the world's greatest presenters as your teacher - you too can become a persuasive and powerful speaker. Tracy reveals time-tested tricks of the trade you can use to present powerfully and speak persuasively, whether in an informal meeting or in front of a large group of people.

Learn how to:

  • Become confident, positive, and relaxed in front of any audience
  • Grab people's attention from the start
  • Use body language, props, and vocal techniques to keep listeners engaged
  • Transition smoothly from one point to the next

Use humor, stories, quotes, and questions skillfully

  • Deal with skepticism when presenting new ideas
  • Wrap up strongly and persuasively

An excellent book - all round.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. In fact, so much I bought the book to go with it. I think it'll depend on your perspective, but I found this to be useful on so many levels. I don't always speak int he same settings as Mr Tracy, but one can easily transfer the suggested skills over to day to day life. A really good buy if you're someone with a passion and want to know how to deliver it well.

    Useful

Would you listen to Speak to Win again? Why?

Typical Brian Tracy story and delivery, easy to listen to, some good points. Encouraging and inspiring. Some content mirrored from other of his books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had the time, yes!

    Disappointing

I hoped to get more out of this book. The other reviews were encouraging but there just isn't enough meat in this audio book to make it desirable. It does have some good points but far shy in number to be a decent book.
I would highly recommend The Modern Scholar Way with Words: Writing Rhetoric and the Art of Persuasion to help you learn how to engage your readers and listeners. It actually covers more than just writing. As for books specifically on public speaking I would try The Art of Public Speaking before recommending this one.

    Absolutely the best!

This is the most valuable public speaking book I've ever heard. The information revealed is a must for anyone who presents to an audience, large or small. Whether discussing how to prepare for your talk, the qualities of top speakers, or how to work an audience, Tracy will teach you techniques that will make you a winner every time!

    Speak to Win

Where does Speak to Win rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among the audiobooks I've listened to thus far Speak to Win is definitely in the top ranks.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Brian Tracy is consistently "spot on" with his messages and is a great source if your looking to gather the tools to make you a professional at what you do.

Which character – as performed by Brian Tracy – was your favorite?

    n/a

What did you learn from Speak to Win that you would use in your daily life?

I've only listened through one time, my biggest take away on my first listen is how to manage hotel and event coordinators. I think Brian saved me from making a few mistakes I would have learned the hard way!

    Any additional comments?

Well worth the time and money. Just like the rest of my B. Tracy collection this will pay for itself 100 times over!

Ironically, he could have read it better

This book has some really good tips for presenting and I enjoyed the content. However, I was a little surprised at how stilted and somewhat bland Brian Tracy's reading of his own book was, especially considering the title. You could also hear him moving the sheets of paper that he is reading from, which was annoying. I've also listened to Eat that Frog!, which Tracy reads much better, so it's the performance of this book that's average. In all honesty, I don't think Tracy reading his own book added a whole lot of value here and it could have been better read by someone else. But the book is still helpful for people who want to improve their presenting.
