A great reminder of how to help people

As a single guy out dating this book was a great help! It reminded me that it’s not about meeting someone and listening to respond. It’s about listening with the intent to add value to that person. I’ve seen my second date chances increase over 50% as I’ve gotten more second dates. I’ve also been reminded that where I was applying these habits in the office I need to apply them everywhere and in all aspects of my life. John C. Maxwell does a lot to help people and I enjoy his work immensely. I just wish they weren’t going through and ‘updating’ his books with new narrators. I have some of his books on CD still and I liked him reading them. This narrator is the best out of the new group of narrators I’ve listen to thus far. If you're looking for a boost in your life, dating or work relationships this simple easy to read book is for you.

Read Chapter Titles - that is good enough...

The ideas are already spelled out in the title of the chapters, then in the body of the book, there are stories that support each idea. I would not re-listen to it.

    short but powerful

this book has 25 little suggestions that you can use in your everyday life. What I did was I wrote each one of them on a 3 by 5 card in carried one in my pocket for 25 days so I can write notes on there how I could actually apply it in my world.

    Not very impactful

I was hoping for more from this book. Not very impactful. Dated. Though there were a few items I got out of it which I appreciate.
