Summary

A prehistoric corpse entombed within an Arctic glacier, crying tears of blood. A jungle island overrun by rabid primates - escapees from a research laboratory's hot zone.

A massive seaplane hidden beneath a mountain, packed with a Nazi cargo of mind-blowing evil. A penniless orphan kidnapped from an African slum, holding the key to the world's survival.

Four terrifying journeys. One impossible path. Only one man to attempt it.

Will Jaeger. The Hunter.

Read by Rupert Degas.

Excellent but just a bit too much technical detail

Great listen but just a bit too much technical detail which can slow the progress of the story. The detail could remain but be dealt with in an appendix for those who want to know more about weapons and warfare etc.

Good but could be better...

Really loved the first novel but found this one a little disappointing. It's almost like the main plot is not enough to fill the book so they head of at odd tangents for extra content and I also heard a lot of repetition of descriptions and phrases.

The narration is really first rate and I hope Bear continues with the series.

Better than the 1st will jäger story

Throughly enjoyed this book it went straight into the action and rarely slowed in pace. Rupert degas’ performance is just amazing narrating complete with accents even down to details such as breathing masks just pulls you in even more. Recommend the book to everyone

A second outstanding novel!

My husband and indeed myself have loved both of the Will Jaeger novels. We were hooked on both from the very beginning. Warning: Pace yourself, these novels are the type that are hard to put down. Great for a long drive. If you listen in bed, set the timer, or you could be up all night! Can't wait for the next instalment ... are you listening Bear?

I loved the first book and as a second book this was a great follow up. Once started I could not put my device down.

Ended a little abruptly

the story line was a little predictable and felt rushed at the end "and they all lived happily ever after"

A cracker of an adventure story!

A cracker adventure story!
Cannot wait for the next one. Incredibly the narrator managed not to ruin it or annoy me.

Bit long winded in places

I liked the first book and had high hopes for this one. It's not bad but there's quite a bit of non essential padding in places. Entering the cave for example. Good solid performance though. Still enjoyed it, look forward to the third.
