About this listen

A house demolition provides an unpleasant surprise for the Minneapolis Police - the bodies of two girls, wrapped in plastic. It looks like they've been there a long time, and Lucas Davenport knows exactly how long. With the bodies discovered, an old case is resurrected - but there's something wrong with the evidence. As Davenport investigates, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: It wasn't just the bodies that were buried. It was the truth.

Really enjoyed it, maybe not Sandford's absolute best story, but very, very good. And no one does Sandford better than Richard Ferrone.

Highly recommended

I wanted to write a review as the title previously had just 2 reviews, 1 review liked it, 1 review was disappointed (with the plot). I really enjoyed this book tape, I listen to the Davenport series partly because I like the characters in it (regardless of the criminal book plot) and enjoy following them, in this book we go back to Lucas's early time as a street cop and are there as he meets familiar faces we know well from later stories, something I don't think was mentioned in the books description. For this alone the book is a must-listen, also not mentioned is something which happens to a familiar current-day character.
As for the plot, yes its fine, the book is well written and brilliantly narrated and don't be put off by a negative review,
Davenport fans are in it for the "whole" story!

I was so disappointed in this book, it had reasonable ratings on this site and on Amazon. I felt it was less of a crime novel, and more of a life history of a rather obnoxious cop who flouted rules when it suited him. It gave a very poor view of the attitudes of the police who were interested only in their own variety of justice. The only reason I gave it 2 stars rather than 1 was that I did actually manage to finish it, albeit with a great feeling of having wasted my time on this tedious book.
