Summary
When a reality show comes knocking, you take their offer. That’s exactly what we did, and now our cattle ranch has become a dude ranch. But the producers want more from me than to teach these city slickers how to saddle up. They want me to play the part of Romeo in an on-screen romance. Until I tell them I’m engaged.
Too bad that’s a bold-faced lie.
Now I have to find a willing participant in my charade for the next twelve weeks and my friend has the perfect solution. She’s gorgeous, smart, and sexy as sin - and she’s agreed to fake our engagement, for a price.
If making it look real is as fun as I think it’ll be, I’m in trouble. Because this woman might be the one who tames my wild side.

There are some authors I will give up sleep for, and Kim Loraine is one. No matter the romance sub-genre, she captivates me and keeps me enthralled. While I love her paranormal, I tend to drift towards the contemporary and this cowboy series could not get any better. The Rykers are incredible. This one features the second brother, Buck. He is approached to have a budding romance on their new reality TV show, but has no interest in being the center of attention. He decides to get himself a fake fiance to take the heat off, but another kind of heat is beginning to build. Penny has always been attracted to Buck. Hurt as a teenager, she isn't sure this idea of his will work, but she needs the money. Will these two be able to fool the cameras? Alluring, flirty, funny, this book has it all. Buck is impossible not to fall for. Swoony, thoughtful and good looking, it's too hard not to love him. Penny is feisty and determined, yet her heart is saying something else. I loved it! The history, the show, the couple, the family interaction, the friends they make, and the way Buck says Sugar. And then we get cousin Travis, the hot fire fighter that I just have to wonder if we will get more for him later (do I sense a spinoff for a Golden Beach revival?)! I love this family, and can't wait for Tristan!
Kim Loraine knows how to cast her characters and this team is phenomenal. Aaron Shedlock brings out that Texas twang, and pulls us in with his seductive drawl. Every time he says Sugar, I was melting! He finds all the facets of Buck and lets us see the heart of this cowboy. Newcomer Stella Hunter is fast moving up on my radar. I am loving her performances. She is fantastic as she delves into the personality of her characters and nails each nuance. Loved this narration!

Sexy cowboys at their best!
Buck is all kinds of sexy with an easygoing personality that is hard to resist. The dynamics of the Ryker family continue to pull me in. Characters are realistic for a close-knit group who watches out for each other and provides support during difficult times. Momma is adorable and spunky and absolutely perfect! All of the missed opportunities, misunderstood conversations, and stubborn cowboy nonsense makes for another great story about the Rykers. I'm really looking forward to more books in the series to introduce us to the rest of the family as they find love. I made the mistake of starting this story at bedtime and ended up playing "1 more chapter" until I finished the book without stopping. Not sorry!
Once again, Aaron and Stella deliver excellent performances. Aaron has a very smooth cowboy twang you can't help but fall for. Stella is getting better with every book, so I will definitely be listening to more. Both narrators were consistent and melded together well. Definitely worth a credit!

Fun cowboy & stubbornly cute
I am getting to know why cowboy romance is quite quaint and a bit sexy. Kim Lorraine has a way to make it that so and I was able to read/listen through And through. This is a Fake fiancé trope with Buck and Penny! They knew each other as teens...well, Penny is 16 and Buck was 21 & had this chemistry. As they got older and the ranch needed money as well for Penny, they put 2 together to make it as a business deal for that reality show! It’s somewhat a continue form the from book but this could be a stand alone with the Ryker’s brothers. Overall, it’s a little hot mess off and on camera and love every bit and pieces of each chapter with these 2!!! Audiobook Narrators Aaron Sherlock and Stella Hunter were splendid w/each other! I love narration duet!!!!!!! So, you want sexy, yummy, and down right a little of that sweetness- this is it! 👌

Swoony cowboy!!
I love swoony cowboys and Buck was no exception. Buck and Penny were a long time coming. They belonged together, it just took some time to figure out.
Fantastic performances by Stella Hunter and Aaron Shedlock!

Swoon Inducing
With the prospect of being propositioned to be the new “love story line” on the show Saddle Up, Buck needs find a way out. What better way out that to tell everyone that he’s engaged? Only one problem; he’s not. But when his old crush, Penny Callahan, comes back into his life and needs a job, everything changes. They try to keep their “romance” for cameras only until they can’t anymore and the lines between real and fake begin to blur.
Buck Ryker is as hunky as his older brother Clint was, if not more. He’s charming, charismatic, easy going, and down right swoony. Penny Callahan is as feisty as they come. This fake fiancé story is one wild ride.
Where Clint was gritty and growly, Buck has a smooth cowboy twang to him and Aaron Shedlock does that perfectly. Stella gives all the fire that needed when it comes to the feisty Penny. Fantastic performances from both narrators on this duet audio.

Nice easy read
As the second book in the Ryker Ranch series this one was good but a little predictable. But honestly that is sometimes exactly what I need. Like a good Hallmark movie it can be as comforting as a nice warm blanket with a sweet and satisfying happily ever after, only with hot sexy scenes. And I loved the duet narration with Aaron Shedlock and Stella Hunter. Duet was exactly what this story needed.

Heart Squish !!! ❤️❤️❤️
My next few sentences are going to make it sound like I did not enjoy this book so I will say that I did very much ! But I got so irritated with Sugar/Penny and her inability to “hear” things properly because she was insecure and bitter. Girl can hold a grudge. She never engaged in a clarity conversation with Buck just plucked out the pieces she wanted to hear got her feelings all riled up and then she ran away and held a massive pity party. I did however enjoy the snippy way they went at each other badly veiling their true feelings. And I loved that Buck was masculine but not all alpha and dripping with dom sauce (yawn). This is a cute quick series but I am disappointed that the TV show and contestants aren’t more involved. But I’m excited for Tristan’s book next. The audio is first class can’t forget to give them a shout out!
