Summary

By the most ludicrous of means, special ops soldier Clayton Sanders had a warning that something was going to happen to the world. Clay prepared for the worst, but just because you're well prepared doesn't mean everything is going to be okay. Clay has faced some of the worst humanity has to offer in all parts of the world, but now he is faced with something much worse than terrorists. His family.

Having returned home at great cost to himself, Clay has prepared his family as best he could in secret, but now that the crap has actually hit the fan, things aren't going as he had hoped. Having planned for his family to shelter in place at their farm and ride out the worst of the disaster, that plan goes completely haywire within days and doesn't get any better. Forced by his family's actions to abandon his initial plan, Clay and his friends must adapt quickly and make a new plan on the fly.

Faced with armed gangs and a leader who shocks them all, how will things play out for Clay and the others? Especially when his own family members can't seem to remember the plan and continuously make things hard on him and the rest?

Good Series

I’m so glad I found another apocalypse series to listen to. And this one is really really good. Started off I thought a little odd but it just gives you time to know the characters well. It’s a real story and I finished two books and I’m so much looking forward to all of the rest. There’s not a lot of curse words, which some of these books overdo. But there is good action and good personal stories. I am thoroughly enjoying this!

Great Series, can't wait for the next book

I finished all 3 books in this series in less then a week, great story. Only thing that could have made it better is if it was narrated by Kevin Pierce, which by no means is a dig on Lee Allen, because he does a great job, but Kevin Pierce just does end of the world like no other.

Apocalyptic Adventure

Don't judge me but this is the third time of me reading this series. I am waiting patiently for the sixth installment, each character has me well invested in their journey. the writing is realistic but my favorite character is Leon (Pa) who is onerously complex and funny. Clay is the baby son who has a world of knowledge that isn't really given the respect deserves. All in all great narration and great novel.

A good lesson.

Mr. Reid is a great storyteller. Really enjoyed the series. The narrator does a pretty good job but is a little week on female voices which is not unexpected. He does a outstanding job with the old man, Pa.

Awesome character development ... well done!

I have enjoyed books one and two very much. The dive into the overlooked interpersonal challenges that would likely emerge in this environment was a fine touch of brilliant character development. This is a skill modern authors often lack ... This author does a fine job.

Terribly written. sexist and racist

This is only the 2nd review I have ever posted..
this book is not well written, terrible audio and merely a highschool hero's wet dream with no depth or character development. A waist of my time and was at times offensive. I love the genre enough that I suffered through the 1st book in the series unfortunately. The idea that this person could be considered an author is deeply concerning. This is merely a badly written right wing attempt at propaganda that suggests beating your woman is how to put her in her place and that any form of altruism is a mistake that will only hurt you and your family.
