Story
Grace Miles misses her easy friendship with Asher, but growing up means growing apart. And really, how could he fall for her when they spent their childhood getting muddy in the creek and splitting sticks of gum?But this summer, something feels different. If Grace didn’t know better, she’d think Asher was flirting with her. Those dark eyes, hard body, and wicked smile make her insides swirl and her heart dare to hope for things she’s convinced herself she’ll never have. I was hanging with the girls, celebrating my divorce, when I saw him - my crush, sitting in the corner of the bar, all alone. Being single and looking for a wild night, I asked him if he wanted to join me. To my delight, he said yes. On paper, it seemed like I had hit the jackpot. And if I wasn't fresh from a toxic marriage, I would have absolutely noticed the finer things about him. But, I wanted nothing to do with being married, so when I arrived back home from my eventful weekend in Vegas, the last thing I expected to see was a new doting husband already moved in.

Summary
“She was unraveling me, slowly but surely. I could feel it happening. Like she was gently unbuttoning the collar of a shirt that fit too tight.”
Single-minded drive earned Roland Miles success - and cost him his first love. When his marriage to Zoe ended, he did the only thing he knew. He dove into work to put his heartbreak behind him.
Zoe Sutton’s life hasn’t exactly gone to plan. She certainly didn’t plan on losing Roland or moving home to work for his family’s winery. Four years after their divorce, she wonders if her chance at happily ever after is behind her.
After discovering his family might lose their land, Roland comes home to help sort out the mess. But between his brothers’ antics, a baby sister who’s all grown up, and a father keeping secrets, complicated isn’t even the half of it.
And then there’s Zoe.
He didn’t come home looking for a second chance with her. But the more time they spend together, the more he realizes what they lost. What they could have again.
Because the truth is they broke each other’s hearts - and maybe they’re the only ones who can put them back together.
Author’s note: A stoic hero who’s soft on the inside. A sassy heroine who doesn’t take any shit. Messy family. Lots of shenanigans. Mattress-burning bonfires. And a second chance at love with a big HEA.
The Miles Family series is best enjoyed in order.

Finding Your Way Back Home
It's not often that I read romances featuring married couples. It's even more rare when it's a second chance romance between the divorced couple. Interconnected family series are always favorites for me and the Miles family has some amazing characters that I can't wait to find out more about. Broken Miles is Roland's story and it was such a funny and entertaining romance. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell were fantastic! Both showed their versatility and talent, voicing both male and female characters with ease. They were also able to convey so much emotion in their performances.
Making second chance romances believable and keeping the characters likeable is always a little tricky, but Claire Kingsley did an amazing job. Roland and Zoe's journey was at times frustrating, but it was also understandable and relatable. There's a lot of history between them and though I wanted them to hash things out and just talk to each other openly and honestly from the start, I could see how hard it could be to do that. Both have been hurt and are feeling vulnerable, so giving that much power to someone again is terrifying. I appreciated that they acknowledged the mistakes of the past though and actively worked to not repeat them. There's some delicious build up between these two and their sexual chemistry was scorching. Zoe was no wallflower, and I loved that she spoke her mind and didn't hold back. The epilogue (and bonus epilogue!) were sweet and hopeful and brought everything full circle for Roland and Zoe.
Family and sibling relationships play a huge role in the story and I have to say that Cooper (and Chase) often stole the show any time they made appearances. The things Cooper said had me laughing out loud several times and he was the perfect shot of comic relief. I'm excited to dive into the rest of this series (especially after the big family bombshell was dropped) and see how things play out for the rest of the Miles family.

This is a DNF for me
The story was juvenile. These thirty year olds act like immature college kids. The solution to every problem? Sex and alcohol of course. The dialogue was horrendous. I mean who doesn’t want to indulge in raunchy sexual talk with your 26 year old brother-in-law. I did not feel any deep emotional connection between the two main characters who were divorced and going to be reconciling. The story idea had potential, but was sadly left as just potential and nothing more.

The Greatest of Second Chances!
I loved this book even more the second time! Roland and Zoe’s story was a second chance where they were divorced and I loved that twist Claire Kingsley added. The angst was palpable. The chemistry smoking. The sexual tension so thick it’d need to be cut with a chainsaw. Thrown together by an unforeseen circumstance, it becomes harder and harder to deny what they feel inside. Though, they tried to deny it, it was clear the love between these two was still there but so was the hurt of the past. I loved every single minute of their journey back to each other. Their story was sweet, emotional, steamy and unputdownable. I loved the homey feel this story had. The Miles clan is an energetic and lovable bunch and right off the back, you’re craving a story from everyone. The fights, heartbreak, laughs and camaraderie of a family banding together makes this story one that hits you with all the feels. Now what I didn’t expect were the bombs drops Claire Kingsley had up her sleeve. Oh man was my jaw was on the floor. Broken Miles is a love story that teaches you home isn’t a physical place but a place where happiness and love resides. This was such a beautiful and heartfelt read and one that’ll stay with you long after you finish. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell helped to really convey the emotions from this book. They were an absolute dream on the narration.

listening to this book on audio is a totally different dimension from when I just read it myself. Having voices going along with the dialogue, and hearing expressions in them that are different from when I read them. Made this very enjoyable. I am new to audiobooks, with this being only the third one I’ve listened to and I enjoyed it a lot. I love the book when I read it and I love it when I hear it now.

Loved Roland & Zoe's second chance
I really enjoyed this first book in the Miles family series. I love second chance romance but this might be the first I have read with a divorced couple finding their way back to each other. These two really loved one another but Roland was so focused on his career and moving up the ladder of success that he let his marriage fall apart. In his mind, he was working to better their lives and give everything he could to Zoe. He just didn't realize at the time that all she wanted was him and his time. So four years ago, she left and filed for divorce. She didn't think this bothered Roland at all, since he never let on how this made him feel.
Zoe moved back to Echo Creek and started working for the Miles family at their vineyard. The family never treated her any differently after she divorced their son/brother. She thought she was over Roland and doing her best to move on with her life. That is until he is called home because the family business is in trouble and they need his help to save it. At first he is only suppose to be there for about a week and then he will leave again and life can go back to their new normal. But saving the business is turning out to be more difficult that anyone realized.
Roland being around Zoe again is opening his eyes and heart to what is really and truly important in his life. Roland finally realizes what he needs to do but can he earn back Zoe's trust and mend her broken heart?
While I really loved this second chance romance, the main reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because Zoe and Roland are both with other people at the beginning of the book. Now I don't care that they were with other people during their years apart, it's to be expected. I just don't like it much when the H/h are in relationships when they are brought back into each other's lives. The upside is we didn't really have to read about times in their respective relationships.
Really loved the audiobook narrated by two of the best: Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden. These two truly compliment each other's narrations.
I am very interested in continuing the series to see all the Miles' get their HEA's.

A beautiful second chance romance
I avoided starting this series because of the premise of this first book - a second chance between divorced spouses - but gave in finally after hearing repeatedly how fantastic the whole series is. I am so glad I did. Roland and Zoe are perfect together and the reason for the divorce, as well as the reason for them to reunite was believable and so beautifully written. And Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are the perfect narrators for this story. Roland Miles is a business executive who is called home by one of his brothers to help save the family winery after the bank has threatened foreclosure. Zoe has worked at the Miles family winery as the event planner since the divorce. The proximity, along with the underlying family drama which is the cause of the financial problems, reignites Roland and Zoe’s feelings and starts them on the path to their HEA. This book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, strong friendships, laughs, messy families, fan your face sexy times, real life issues, imperfect characters, and so much love. This was at its core a heart warming story about love, loss, family, and damaged but not broken people. I will definitely keep reading this series.
