Summary

I thought watching my Werewolf boyfriend get arrested for murder was the worst experience of my life.

But then I was knocked out and dragged off to a cell of my own by the very people who were supposed to protect me from danger. I thought being held prisoner in solitary confinement for weeks on end was the worst experience of my life. But then a visitor came, and I realized I'd been wrong all along.

There are worse things than torture and death. Much worse.

He wants my blood. More than that, he wants to get into my head. To use my bond to control his army, to wipe the world clean of anything with dirty blood. I can't let that happen, but if I don't he'll kill every single person I've ever cared about - beginning with my Werewolf pack.

The prophecy said I would have to make an impossible choice, but I must be doing this wrong - so far every choice I've made has only led to more pain and danger and death. Hunters are pitted against Werewolves and I'm alone in my war against Gordon Steppe. I can't fight him off anymore; all I can do is try to keep him out of the important places. And I'm failing at even that.

I thought the demons were out there, clearly marked and clinging to the shadows. But they're not. The monsters are within the ranks of those sworn to protect. The enemy is among us.

Predictable and Sloooowww

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

kids who love twilight type stories

Would you ever listen to anything by Heather Hildenbrand again?

no

Would you listen to another book narrated by Kelly Pruner?

yes

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

it finally ended

Any additional comments?

I read/listened to this series to the end because I had purchased the box set - I kept waiting for the inevitable and trudged through the boring and predictable plot - This is a kids story written for kids. Adults who have enjoyed the likes of King, Rice,Martin, Brookes and Feehan should skip this

Thrilling, satisfying end to the series

A brilliant end to an excellent series. The author keeps up the suspense, adds in some great twists and then pulls everything together to form a satisfying end. The narration is excellent and the voices she does for the characters fit perfectly. I love all the characters in these books and I am happy that there is some wiggle room left to allow more stories in this world in the future.

Good series

I really enjoyed the series. And I’m a 49-year-old female (share audible with Husband). It’s just a good YA listen without any excessive sex or violence. Just a good story with variation on werewolves. I don’t understand the negative reviews were people were so picky about this and that. It really is a good storyline. Yes you do get aggravated with the main character but you have to remember she’s a teenager.

Mildly entertaining with great characters but...

too many logic fallacies and random events that didn't have anything to do with anything and literally had to be explained at the end. reminds me of a bad joke that has to be explained because it wasn't actually funny. In the end I'm glad I finished the series.

Written for YA or Pre teen readers

This is the 5 book of the series and not much has really happened y to move the story along. This could have easily been 3 books and over with .Way to much sappy kissing moments and characters staring hungrily at each mouths. Barf. Everyone insists that Tara is a leader but she doesn’t seem to have anything skills to make her a good leader.
The narrator is awful! Some of the voices she does were truly cringe worthy
I guess if I was 13 -15 MAYBE I might have liked this book

Excellent Conclusion!

I really enjoyed this series and this last book was amazing. There is so much action, suspense, drama, and a touch of romance. The twists and turns are great! This author really knows how to build suspense and mystery and she delivered a great conclusion that brought everything together beautifully.

Narration was great and brought the audiobook to life.

The main character is a teen, so I expected her to act unreasonable at times. I have three teens living under my roof. The story was amazing and the plot very clever. Outstanding storytelling. I will be definitely reading more books from this talented author.

the pack

this book was better than the first four, but it took those four to make book five. the characters grew up some what so it's not such a teen werewolf. it's a story finally coming together, with all the struggles and craziness and teenage emotions, to put together a peace treaty between hunters and werewolves. at the end it was a pretty good series. the performance was great
