Summary

I never thought I'd end up being abducted by aliens!

I was living my dream, rotating in space around Mars on the Mars Hope Skylab. As the first American woman this far into space, I’ve accomplished more in my 28 years of life than most.

I enjoy my job, so when things go sideways and aliens board my lab, I try to stay positive and make sure that I just observe and stay alive. But I’m immediately grabbed and taken to their ship.

Unable to understand them and not knowing what they have planned for me, I have to make some hard choices about whether living is the best way to go. And how far will I go to live?

It appears that I’m now the property of the alien that grabbed me.

He’s big, possessive, and seems to want to get to know me a lot better....

Please note: This scifi romance alien book contains adult language and steamy adult bedroom scenes. It is intended for 18 and up listeners and adults only.

It's part of a science fiction romance series but can be heard as a standalone story with no cliffhangers!

Appeal to steamy romance readers, not my thing

Bren's Blessing (The Quasar Lineage #1) by Pearl Tate
Narrated by Randi Johnson and Kelsey Navarro

This book will certainly appeal the lovers of steamy romance, with an emphasis on steamy, but I am finding it is not really for me, hence only two stars.

I personally felt there was too much focus on superficial physicality and sexual attraction and the intelligence of the characters was neglected. Also I would have preferred more in-depth information on technology, evolution and culture of the alien home planet and the galaxy it is in.

I like that the Female protagonist Hannah, is a scientist and astronaut, but this could easily be forgotten once she meets the alien Bren, upon which she becomes an intelligent, but angst-ridden bag of raging hormones. Bren the main male character and alien, as are all the males in this story, is a huge (in all departments), handsome hunk. All the aliens have a keen sense of smell and scalp- and body-hair, that moves of its own volition.
The antagonist of the story is Veena a female alien on the home planet and part of the high council, which rules the planet.

Spoiler Warning!

The adventure starts with Hannah in orbit around Mars in skylab, Bren and his crew turn up and inadvertently set off skylab’s self destruct mechanism. He rescues Hannah and takes her onboard his spaceship. The aliens have a keen sense of smell and the all male crew react to Hannah’s scent, but Bren claims her as his mate. They are hugely sexually attracted to each other and insatiable, however there is a deeper bond between them which shows in matching body marks and an inability to be physically apart. Enter Veena, she is one of the high council members who rule Bren’s home planet and as it turns out is female dominated. Bren is supposed to belong the Veena and supply her with offspring. The pair bonding of a couple has not occurred since ancient times and Veena is evoking an ancient trial to confirm the lovers bond.

Spoilers finished!

I really enjoyed the way Pearl told the story from both Hannah’s and Bren’s perspective and the book is read by a female and male narrator. Both speakers read at a good pace with clear and concise diction. The very gravelly voice of Randi is perfect for Bren.

great story but...

I really loved this book. I was hooked from start to finish and ate it up in one sitting while I worked. If you are okay with lots of alien porn and an instalove true mate bonding then this is the book for you.

My only cons are I think this book should have been written in 3rd person because the alien male Bren's dialogue was inconsistent. I find it hard to believe that just seconds after learning her language by download into his mind that he knew words like my dick, my cock, her cunt right away but the phrase you are a good kisser was too complex for him to understand without explanation. He easily understood our slang for genitals but frowns at terms of endearment like baby. I feel like he would have used more technical terms or symbolic terms to his people's linguistics/ environment. I mean if the author can make up names for smart alien ant-spider creatures running from an alien snake creature then she can make up colorful alien names for the genitals, considering the majority of their relationship was naked and rutting endlessly.

So yeah I feel like in 3rd person point of view the narrator could have used those words and it not take away from the authenticity and development of Bren. In first person it makes him an incomplete character who's dialogue needed fixing because he is using complex slang in a foreign language.

also what is up with the usage of the word cunt? I want to vomit every time I hear it. Its not sexy and puts me out of the mood of the hot sexy time scenes. Authors should really reconsider using this word to describe the vagina but nothing is sexy about a stinky dirty coochie during sex. If this book didn't have cunt in it it would be a 6/5 star read.

Great Sci-Fi Romance

Book: Bren’s Blessing
Author: Pearl Tate
Narrator(s): Randi Johnson, Kelsey Navarro

Did the Audiobook meet your expectations?
This was an excellent introduction to The Quasar Lineage series. It is full of adventure and learning about their culture was interesting. Like with many of the Alien romances, there are limited females and limited means to reproduce heirs.

How did the story make you feel?
This book was steamy, intriguing and thrilling.

Did the narrator make it easy to follow the story?
The narrators have done a fantastic job and make the story very easy to follow along with. Having 2 narrators (male and female) was a fantastic.

Did you find the narrator’s voice fitting for the main protagonists(s)?
Both narrators fit the voices well. I did have to get over the Randi Johnson’s pronunciation of Hannah’s name (Han-na). Kelsey did a great job with voicing Hannah and

Do you recommend this audiobook and will you pick up more?
Definitely! This was a great book and I look forward to finding out more about the rest of the male’s adventures to finding their human mates.

I was gifted this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Action packed

This book is basically erotica with a plot. Misunderstandings, teamwork, villains, spies... there is plot and a couple of string characters between the heavy sexiness parts.

Recommend against listening in public.

Premise: alien rescues earth woman and can’t take her home. They immediately have sex and worry about it all later... oh, and the alien is literally tall, dark and handsome!

Alternating narrator by chapter to reflect the two perspectives really worked well.

Quite Fun

Title: Bren's Blessing
Author: Pearl Tate
Format: Audio
Narrators: Kelsey Navarro and Randi Johnson
Genre: SciFi Romance - Alien, Adventure
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Book 1 of The Qusar Lineage
POV: Hannah and Bren
Steam Level: Hot
5/5

Bren's Blessing was a lot of fun and a great introduction to the series. While technically a standalone, the epilogue leads into the next book but does not leave you on a cliffhanger, just the perfect place to start. I enjoyed the bond and the physical aspects that happened, specifically to Bren. The world that Pearl Tate built was a fun one, playing with roles and abilities, along with the unexpected consequences of technology. Overall, Bren's Blessing was a lot of fun and a quick, steamy read for a lazy afternoon. I cannot wait to start the next book in this series.

I received this audiobook for free (and then bought the ebook). This is my honest and voluntary review.

Fantastic new space adventure!

I loved this book, from the first pages my attention was caught and I was sucked into this space adventure, following Bren and Hannah's first meeting, romance and fight to be accepted, Cultural differences play a big part in their story, and the shockingly rigid matriachal society challenge them at every turn. This was a real page turner and I desperately want to know what happens next, and who will be blessed by the mating marks.

I'm Hooked!

Rating: ❤❤❤❤
Heat Rating: 🔥🔥🔥.5
Narrator Performance: Female: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 Male: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧

I've found a new author!! I love it when I find a new author. This definitely won't be my last book by Pearl Tate. I'm totally hooked!

Bren's Blessing is an Erotic Sci-fi Romance novel with a creative plot and great world building. The main characters, Bren and Hannah, were easy to like. The secondary characters were great too. And while the antagonist wasn't exactly a villain it's not difficult for the reader to dislike her.

The first half of the story was a bit slow moving and mostly focused on the MCs sexual relationship. Beware, there is a good amount sex in this book so it might not be for you if you're not into that sort of thing. I didn't find the sex to be super excessive but I appreciated the reasoning behind it on Bren's part as well as Hannah acknowledging it in her internal monologues.

As previously mentioned the author did some wonderful world building in this book. I'm excited to learn more. Not all aspects of it were original but the author put a fresh spin on those parts. I was a bit disappointed in some of Hannah's behavior however. I felt that she should have questioned more and pushed for better communication and answers from Bren. Although this line from Hannah's thoughts addresses the issue well.

"It flits through my head that my alien mate is the captain of this ship. He’s used to only giving out the details that need to be at any given time."

All in all this was a wonderful read in my opinion and I can't wait to start the next book in the series.

About the Narrators:
Randi Johnson and Kelsey Navarro completely blew me away with their narration. I don't believe I've come across them before but I love them. They both had fantastic pacing and brought the story to life. Their performances were truly excellent. Johnson carried more than half of the story's delivery because basically every character in the book was male. This book was the first duet narration that I've listened to and I love how he did the all of the males' speaking parts even if the chapter was being told from Hannah's POV.

Alien abduction fated mate erotica

The audio book is great fun. Two narrators, Randi Johnson and Kelsey Navarro, are a great combination and make the separation of male and female voices easy. As an audio experience, totally recommended.

The blurb sets the scene, with Hannah in the space lab orbiting Mars. Boarded by aliens, the Ai of the space lab enacts protocol 8.2 and counts down to self destruct. So peeves first, that seemed like a plot contrivance. Rather odd, that such an expensive space lab should primed to self destruct due a breach of the hull. What about air locks, Hail Mary curtains and space suits? Then there is the insta lust and straight into humping the alien, Bren.

That aside, I really enjoyed the story. Bren was sweet, Hannah seemed a bit entitled. After the mating had been performed, multiple times, the plot thickens and the action escalates. So lots of sexual content, erotica, and an HEA
