Summary

Sasha has always known she was different, but now she also knows that the shadow men she's seen all her life, are real.

With a life goal of fitting in, Sasha hopes her strange abilities will finally make true friendship a possibility. Unfortunately, her magic doesn't function like everyone else's. What she thought would make her belong, sets her apart now more than ever.

Stefan, all but promised to a different woman, has tried to keep his mind on his duties instead of the irresistible and free-spirited human. But when she is threatened, he can't keep his distance anymore. He'll stop at nothing to keep her safe, and more importantly, make her his.

Just when one thing clicks into place, another spirals out of control. Stefan's clan isn't the only group that would benefit from an extremely rare type of magic. And their enemies will stop at nothing to get what they want.

The first book in this series, Into the Darkness, is free.

too short

really loved this book but it left more questions. the finale was a clouded in vagueness, what exactly happened. I thought the love beteeen the two heroes could have been explored: what about Darla, bitch supreme?

Book 2

Any additional comments?

Great second book. The storyline delves into enhancing Stefan & Sasha's relationship with a twist of betrayal. The main character's plight to emotionally deal with the changes and now bullying keeps the reader engaged. I couldn't help laughing out loud several times! Please complete the series in Audible format!

Another Great Listen

Would you listen to Braving the Elements again? Why?

Like the first book I really enjoyed listening to it the second time around after reading it last year. I would definitely buy the rest of the series to continue my re-read.

What other book might you compare Braving the Elements to and why?

I think I would recommend this story to people who enjoy Elemental Assassin, Night Huntress, The Hollows

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I'm glad Stephen finally let his primal side take over.

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to the rest of the series!

It's better at a 1.25 x speed

What did you love best about Braving the Elements?

Like the first four books of the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Braving the Elements?

The giant planet onslaught in the classroom

Which character – as performed by Devra Woodward – was your favorite?

Her professor "meh" one. And the bouch in the white cap. Maybe even Charles.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A comical, disfunctional human with a magical personality.

Any additional comments?

This series, I've discovered just recently, is better when it's on the 1.25x speed increase. The first book I found to be dragging. The narrator just narrates really slow. But perblem solved. Just increase the speed of the audible and it's actually perfect.

Book 2

Love the Darkness series, the story, and the narration. In fact I have been listening to this audible story for years and only just now realized I never posted a review. My hope is for the whole series to be on audible. The story continues as Sasha and the Boss come to terms with their relationship. Sufficient changes occur and traumatic events happen along with hilarious and scary things as Sasha learns to wield her powers. Enjoy the series and this audible.

WHY IS THERE ONLY 2 BOOKS AVAILABLE???

I love the book but I should love it even more if I was able to listen to the rest of the series but that are not on audible. So until the whole series is available you get 3 stars
