Summary

No last names. No life stories. Those were the rules.

Once upon a time a cocky, copper-haired tourist sauntered into Zara's bar. And even though she knew better, Zara indulged in a cure for the small-town blues. It was supposed to be an uncomplicated fling - a few sizzling weeks before he went back to his life, and she moved on. Until an accidental pregnancy changed her life.

Two years later, she's made peace with the notion that Dave No-Last-Name will never be found - until one summer day when he walks into her coffee shop, leveling her with the same hot smile that always renders her defenseless.

Dave Beringer has never forgotten the intense month he spent with prickly Zara. Their nights together were the first true intimacy he'd ever experienced. But the discovery of his child is the shock of a lifetime, and his ugly past puts relationships and family out of reach.

Or does it? Vermont's countryside has a way of nurturing even tortured souls. The fields and the orchards - and hard-won love - are bountiful.

Not that great

The story was lacking, despite the summary being quite inviting. I was hoping for more than this story could offer.

🌟🌟 5 Stars 🌟🌟

I loved this book and stayed up all night to finish it. Sarina Bowen is a must buy author for me! This series has been great from book 1 but this one was my favorite I think. I loved the characters, they were both so good and normal, like they could be your friends. Dave and Zara are incredibly HOT together and they have a great connection. I loved them together from chapter 1. They have such amazing chemistry that you can't help but fall for their love story. I have a huge soft spot for Men with children in my books. This book was sweet, sexy, realistic and my favorite... Not overly dramatic!!!! I also love that all of these series are entwining but even if you don't remember the other books this could have been a stand alone.

The narration was great! Teddy Hamilton was the PERFECT choice for Dave. He really brought Dave to life for me! Seraphine Valentine was also very good, not sure if I have ever heard her before but I would absolutely buy another audiobook if she was narrating!

Feel Goods

The True North Series has been such an emotional, inspiring and sexy journey with a lot of very entertaining and interesting characters. Although the characters do show up from book to book, they do truly stand alone.

Although this book had not a great deal of action and goings on, i still couldn’t turn it off. It had my attention through and through. The characters were endearing, their chemistry palpable and the storyline was so sweet. I really, truly loved it.

It’s great!

4/5 stars. Sweet romance. Loveable characters. Sexy.

Great cast of characters. Love this series. Sexy times are hot but pretty vanilla.

I am clearly in the minority here

This book didn't do it for me. There is one main point why, but it's a bit of a SPOILER, so don't read if you don't want to.
Dave really doesn't decide he wants Zara and the baby until like the last couple of chapters in the book, and not until the very last moment does he decide he wants them seriously. I found him a character I just didn't care for, he was the opposite of an alpha male, hard to believe he was a Pro hockey player. He was weak and wishy washy. I didn't appreciate him being part of the jokes about him 'knocking up a local girl' in the bar in her hometown. He never said a word to his friends to stop that. I didn't like that he had ONE original thought about how he wanted to proceed with Zara and the baby, the others were thought of and encouraged by his sister. I guess in the real world it's expected, but it bothered me he got paternity tests when the baby has copper hair just like him and Zara is dark skinned and hair. I found this a long story with so little going on, and what went on was always leaving me unsatisfied with his behavior. Also, what was that about the car that almost wiped out Zara, it was never mentioned again. Why does Dave never have the thought process that maybe in the future Zara could meet someone else and they could be a daddy to his baby? I thought it might happen as he watched his team mate play with her in the river, but no. Dave is always doh, duh doh, duh doh. That leads me to the last gripe, one that I am so tired of in romance novels. WHY is no one else interested in Zara ? She is a single beautiful woman, but yet there is not one other guy that has any interest in her. While his character is so drool worthy supposedly. I grew tired of her being 'surprised' by how handsome he was , again, even when she had seen him the day before.. I loved several of Sarina Bowen's books, but this isn't one of them.

Best of the Series

Something about this story struck me at the heart. It was a love story with plenty of steam, sure. But the characters grabbed me from the first chapters. I want this series to go on forever. I also feel a strong urge to visit Vermont as well!

Love this series!

Once I start listening to one of these books, I can't stop. The characters are well developed and engaging. Thank god there's another after this one!

Beautiful

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Teddy Hamilton and Seraphine Valentine are amazing in general, always awesome, so it’s no wonder they made this story shine. It is an excellent audiobook.

Bountiful is a standalone, you can read it whithout having read the first three books in the series, but it is better if you have. First of all, because Sarina Bowen does an amazing job of developing the secondary characters in each book. We have glimpses of Zara in all three books, so if you read them in order, you are somewhat familiar with her background story without actually knowing anything specific.

The first twist comes in a very nice crossover with the Brooklyn Bruisers Series. There is also no need to read that series first, but it is very cool for those who have. Dave plays Hockey for the Bruisers, so it is a very smooth way to link both series. I liked it very much.

The story is beautifully written, is witty and heartfelt. It is a second chance romance with a surprise baby in the mix. I am not a fan of the surprise baby trope, but Bountiful works for me. I actually love it. I think is wonderful and very much worth it.

It is a very emotional story. Zara and Dave come from different places and backgrounds, but deep down they both have emotional scars that have influenced their approach to romantic relationships. Zara is tough as nails on the outside, but insecure and vulnerable on the inside. Dave believes he is destined to be alone, so he doesn’t do relationships. But despite their reservations, they develop a bond that will forever link them. They will have to figure out if they are willing to risk their hearts and embrace the love they feel for each other, or keep pretending they are fine with the way they have been living their lives.

One of the things I love about Sarina Bowen’s books is that you get lost in the story but at the same time appreciate the writing. I enjoy reading her because I can’t help but admire her talent, how she creates a world you want to be a part of, and characters you want to be friends with. All I think about when I read this series is that I want to live in Vermont, or at the very least, visit.

Filling in Zara's story

A nice addition to the series, but this title lacks some of the character development of earlier books. Dave is a nice tie-in to the Brooklyn Bruisers series, but I wish we learned more about him.

Great Series

Love the True North series by Sarina Bowen. Can't wait to read book 5 in the series. It's got the right mix of romance & action. She makes you feel like you are a part of these families. Sarina is a new to me author, so I will definitely look for other books written by her.
