Summary

Fresh from her photo shoot in Northern England, wildlife photographer Tala Westbrook makes a promised stop at the family manor in Staffordshire, desperately in need of renovation. Though she didn’t plan to stay longer than it took to find a contractor, she is caught up in an ancient paranormal war. Despite the danger all around, she finds herself falling for the handsome, enigmatic man assigned to protect her.

Micah Berrington, elite guardian from the realm of the Bewitan Fierd, is used to protecting men of strength in the greatest of peril, not a female looking for someone to repair her home. Yet the assignment is far more than it seems and so is the beautiful woman destined to capture his heart, regardless of the cost.

Bound by Oath and Honour

I enjoyed this book.I found it slow going and over explained, but good.Micah is charged with keeping the family of the Westbrooks safe.Tala is the one he is guarding and the one he is falling for.His kind don't have relationships though. Through time slips and other neat alterations to time,we learn about who he was and who they become.Andrew McDermott was a very good narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

okay

I was gifted a copy of this book in return I agreed to give an honest review. Whilst I enjoyed the writing of this book the story wasn't for me.I don't enjoy paranormal stories much at all, but I liked the thought of a woman falling for the man protecting her. I enjoyed the narration even though it was a new narrator to me.

Bound by Oath and Honor

I like the time traveling aspect, other realms, and otherworldly protectors. I also really appreciated that while it is a romance, it is "clean" and no heavy sex scenes

Wow! Amazing listen.

I was given a promo code for this book and was so excited because this book sounded like my kind of book. It has not disappointed! I cannot wait to read more by this author.

First, the narrator. This can make or break an audiobook. This narrator is amazing. Absolutely perfect. His Irish accent is a little thick so I had to listen very carefully at first but I got used to it. He is incredible. He really brought the story to life for me.

The writing is very clear and the story is rich with folklore and suspense. There is lots of action, and the romance is not overdone. I found it hard to put this book down, from the moment I pressed play I kept this book playing because I had to know what happened. I don’t want to spoil it, so I will just say you have to give this book a try! I think Nora Roberts fans as well as Outlander fans would like this. Even if you’re not a fan of either, give this a listen. I am going to listen to it again!

Great story

This was a great story. I loved the characters and the story. I had a hard time putting my device down and just wanted to keep listening. The narrator did a wonderful job. I would love to read or listen to more by this author and narrator. I highly recommend listening.

Time travel paranormal romance

Tala Westbrook is a photographer caught up in an age old war. This book has just enough romance and adventure. I really enjoyed it.

I thought the narration by Andrew McDermott was spot on.

Fun, Clean, Interesting

I received a review copy of this book.

The story and characters are fun. The worldbuilding is well-done and interesting, with paranormal/supernatural elements handled differently than I have previously encountered. Although it is squarely in the romance genre, it is clean and not at all taudry.

My only criticism is that certain story beats are rushed, and one in particular near the end is skipped over and flashed back to in blatant disregard of the "show, don't tell" rule.

Worth a listen!

The writing was a bit clunky at times and the story occasionally felt a bit rushed.
That being said, it’s a solid story overall, and worth a listen if this sort of genre appeals to you.
The narrator does a wonderful job and his voice is soothing.

Fun Read

3.5 Stars - If you like the typical romance formula and fantastical characters and settings then you'll enjoy this book. It's a fun, predictable read. Andrew McDermott does a great job narrating and his Irish brogue is very pleasing to listen to.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I'm very thankful for the opportunity to listen to it.

Great kickoff to a new series

I enjoy paranormal romance as a departure from contemporary romances. This story had great character development and it made it an enjoyable story. The narrator had an awesome accent that really added to the performances. Looking forward to the next in the series.
