The slow burn "romance" was ok because they are just getting to know each other so things between them don't feel rushed, I actually quite like how their relationship is building.
The narration by Heather Firth was pretty good, she has a good paced and distinctive voices for each of the characters.
Overall it was a good story with a really well done narration and would be listening to the next books to know more about everyone.

The characters, world building and story was really greatly done, and I really enjoyed the strong, confident main character, who still was smart enough to see her own shortcomings and ask and/or accept help, when she needed it!
My only complaint about this book is not getting enough time with Akio, since I really enjoyed him! But hopefully there will be more sweet times with him in the future books!
The narration was super pleasant to listen to, and the narrator did a great job of bringing all the characters to life!

This is definitely an extremely slow burn, reverse harem, pr romance.
Where Magic is the ruler after the great death. Lana Crow maneuvering through this new existence as an assassin finds that isn’t who she really is. Four male Hunks thinks she is bound to them, Beatrice Lockwood believes she is her grandmother, who is she, what is she, and how do the Four Hunks fit in? Hopefully Sadie will fill us in in book 2. Inquiring minds want to know.
