Summary

Happy. Married. Missing.

The Sunday Times number one best-selling author of Lies Lies Lies and Just My Luck returns with her most dazzling and provocative thriller yet....

One of the Press Association’s ‘Hot Titles for 2021'.

Leigh Fletcher: the happily married stepmum to two gorgeous boys goes missing on Monday. Her husband, Mark, says he knows nothing of her whereabouts. She simply went to work and just never came home. Their family is shattered.

Kai Janssen: married to wealthy Dutch businessman Daan, she vanishes the same week. Kai left their luxurious penthouse and glamourous world without a backward glance. She seemingly evaporated into thin air. Daan is distraught.

DC Clements knows that people disappear all the time - far too frequently. Most run away from things, some run towards, others are taken but find their way back. A sad few never return. These two women are from very different worlds, their disappearances are unlikely to be connected. And yet, at a gut level, the DC believes they are.

How could these women walk away from their families, husbands and homes willingly? Clements is determined to unearth the truth, no matter how shocking and devastating it may be.

I was so looking forward to reading Both Of You

I'm a massive Adele Parks fan, I've flown her flag on many, many occasions even convincing people at airports to purchase her latest book but this one is dire. Completely unbelievable, totally unreachable and basically a load of garbage. I'm sure authors when they reach a certain standard are paid to write a book every year but it would be better to wait for a great idea than to push out such rubbish. With so many new up-and-coming authors in the wings, I'm afraid the Queen of Suspense has definitely lost her crown with this one.

It doesn’t get any better, avoid.

Before I start it’s probably worth me pointing out that I don’t normally leave bad reviews. Usually if a book is bad I send it back.

I stuck with this book because I kept thinking ‘it has to get better in the next chapter’ it doesn’t, if anything the plot becomes increasingly stupid.

It’s as though the author had a few passable ideas but was in a hurry to get them onto a page. The plot is unbelievable and the editors haven’t sense-checked it. As the first lockdown is mentioned in the story I can only imagine that the author had promised to get a book to the publisher while trying to home educate three children.

In the hands of a more skilful writer the ideas could have been convincing, this is set in the real, but the story is unbelievable and just daft.

The narrator does a good job with the material available to them.

Don’t make the same mistake that I did. Don’t believe the hype.

Not enough of an ending leave you needing more...

Love Adele Parks book and did enjoy this book, her writing is amazing but was so disappointed it didn’t have more to ending, was pretty obvious throughout who did it! Really needed a better round up. I told my friend who I always share recommendations, especially Adele parks books, not to bother with this one because ending to abrupt and frustrating!!!!

Gripping

Wow was gripped from start to end A great storyline and characters that draw you in and make you question who is guilty. Was a little disappointed at the abrupt end but what a journey to it. Can’t wait for Adele’s next book

Gripping story line.

As always a gripping story line, beautifully narrated, but for me personally a rather disappointing ending.
