Story
It took me a lifetime to have the courage and the clarity to write my memoir. I want to tell the story of the moments - the ups and downs, the triumphs and traumas, the debacles and the dreams - that contributed to the person I am today. This book is composed of my memories, my mishaps, my struggles, my survival, and my songs. Unfiltered. I went deep into my childhood and gave the scared little girl inside of me a big voice. I let the abandoned and ambitious adolescent have her say, and the betrayed and triumphant woman I became tell her side.

This is the age of addiction, a condition so epidemic, so all encompassing and ubiquitous, that unless you are fortunate enough to be an extreme case, you probably don't know that you have it. What unhealthy habits and attachments are holding your life together? Are you unconsciously dependent on food? Bad relationships? A job that doesn't fulfill you? Numb, constant perusal of your phone, looking for what? My qualification for writing this book is not that I am better than you, it's that I am worse.

Well listening and easy to understand.
This audiobook is broken down well and easy to navigate. Each chapter dives into different levels of awareness from within and provides tools explaining how to navigate the storm of personal emotions. Its true, that most don't want to deal with their emotions but let me tell you this: one shift in how you deal with something or someone can have a positive effect on yourself which is priceless.

This is really informative and interesting.
Interesting, especially to read as a couple. Or to pretend we're reading as a couple. It would be nice to read as a couple, but someone won't bother. But that is ok. You can't change your partner, you have to accept all their annoying faults while listening to them whine about yours. How about they help out, just once, you know. But you must learn to live in the moment and accept it as it is, even if in that moment they need to accept a frying pan upside the head.

Everyone should listen this audiobook.
I am listening for a audiobook to learn more about DBT. This audiobook only indirectly does that and only to a limited extent. There are some exercises, but this audiobook is more for those with extreme emotional issues. Not so much for ordinary mood swings, although it could help some. I am using it to help with my interactions at work.

The perfect audiobook.
You'll get just as much information looking up DBT resources online and are less likely to encounter unrealistic "let's all be positive, won't that be great" annoyances. I updated my rating to two stars because the chapters on emotion regulation are decent if you haven't encountered those techniques before.

This audiobook is a great resource.
This audiobook helped me incorporate new ideas for therapy and gave me a strong vocabulary to talk to my healthcare team. It gives models and recounts to different people groups stories and how they overcame it and so forth. It is a WORK book, not a tricky feely audiobook. Accomplish the work and be focused on completely changing you and mending your brain. I think numerous individuals have most likely endured maltreatment that has adversely influenced their idea of life and mental self-portrait. Peruse the audiobook. This treatment manual easy and enjoyable listen.
This audiobook provides an immediate "aha" moment in providing a novel way to understand a group of clients who have traditionally not fully benefited from therapy in the past. The transdiagnostic formulation of 'overcontrol' is eye-opening and applies to a population who often suffers in silence (and social isolation). This treatment manual is easy and enjoyable to listen, the theory is grounded in a large literature delineating over- versus undercontrol, and I believe this treatment will transform psychotherapy treatment for a wide range of disorders exhibiting overcontrol in the years to come.

This treatment is truly ground-breaking, This treatment hones in on individuals who are often suffering in silence, successful by society standards yet desperately alone on the inside, and provides hope for clients where other treatments have fallen short. I bought this audiobook after the psychologist I'm seeing was using it as a guide for our sessions, and I wanted my own to take home and review on my own as well as use during our sessions. I can not recommend this audiobook highly enough, even recommend it to my friends and family that DON'T have any mental health issues, because it's a great guided workbook to getting a handle on your life, emotions, and dealing with people around you. 110% recommend!
