From bestselling author Kendra Elliot comes a riveting installment in the Widow’s Island Novella series about an ex-FBI agent’s race to save the man she loves from a trio of bank robbers.

When two men kidnap former FBI agent Cate Wilde’s fiancé, the boldness of the crime rattles the community. Desperate to find the man she loves, Cate joins forces with the FBI and the local sheriff’s department to launch an investigation and bring Dr. Henry Powers home.

Cate soon learns that a brotherhood of bank robbers abducted Henry in the hopes that he might be able to save their youngest brother, who had been shot during a robbery. But this man is beyond saving, which spells life-threatening danger for Henry.

While Henry plots his escape, Cate uses her investigative skills and experience to track down her fiancé. Can she get to him in time, or will Widow’s Island live up to its name?

Cate finds herself lost in both the middle of her worst nightmare and then happiness when one of her biggest hopes is confirmed....but she cannot celebrate until she solves the nightmare that has engulfed her life. We should never doubt Cate, Tessa or Henry and their determination or ability to solve even the most twisted of crimes.
I listened to this on Audible with Kindle Unlimited and look forward to book 10.

Terrifying but gripping

Another quick thriller novella from Kendra. This island and all its quirks are fast becoming addictive. Kate, a retired FBI agent’s partner, Henry, the local doctor, goes missing. Kate just can’t seem to stay away from trouble!

Christine does a great job on this solo narration. I don’t usually go for third-person narration, but it works well for these stories.

If you’re looking for a full plot packed into a small package, pick BONE DEEP.

What a wonderful story in this wonderful ongoing series. Full of drama and suspense. Can’t wait to read and listen to the next book now. Fabulous narration too

Great book

Unfortunately, despite another good book in this series, the narration spoilt this for me.

The characters all sounded the same - there was no real difference between male and female voices. The primary characters in this series are relatively young (late twenties/early thirties) but the voice of the narrator ages them significantly. Not that the narrator can do anything about this clearly, but the casting of Christine Williams to this book didn’t work in my opinion.

Narration ruined this for me

Great to see the return of Cate and Henry in such a fast paced gripping story - well written and narrated as always!!
