About this listen

Thirteenth-century Bohemia is a dangerous place for a girl, especially one as odd as Mouse, born with unnatural senses and an uncanny intellect. Some call her a witch. Others call her an angel. Even Mouse doesn't know who - or what - she is. But she means to find out.

When young King Ottakar shows up at the Abbey wounded by a traitor's arrow, Mouse breaks church law to save him and then agrees to accompany him back to Prague as his personal healer. Caught in the undertow of court politics at the castle, Ottakar and Mouse find themselves drawn to each other as they work to uncover the threat against him and to unravel the mystery of her past. But when Mouse's unusual gifts give rise to a violence and strength that surprise everyone - especially herself - she is forced to ask herself: Will she be prepared for the future that awaits her?

A heart-thumping, highly original tale in the vein of Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian, Bohemian Gospel heralds the arrival of a fresh new voice for historical fiction.

I loved everything about this book. Skilled narration enhanced a brilliant story. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author

Rich storyline and characters

"Bohemian Gospel" is an enchanting and beautifully written fantasy set in thirteenth-century Bohemia. The story somewhat loses momentum in the final third of the book, but it's still an enjoyable read.

Enchanting.

For a free read I enjoyed it. I did find the ending seemed rather rushed though like the Author ran out of steam.
The narrator was OK to listen to apart from the fact she occasionally sounded like she was straining on the toilet.
One of the more pleasant narrators though who kept me interested in the story.

Nice easy read.

Struggled at first with the narrator and I nearly stopped listening. However, the story was hooking me and I kept going. By the 2nd hour I stopped noticing my irritations with her and found she was very suited to the characters and story hence the 5 stars.
The story is spread over 3 books and I definately recommend them. There is nothing evil or satanic about them and is simply about good vs evil. I would say that there is a rather creepy bit in this one, made even worse by the narrators voice that i turned it off immediately as I was the only one awake in my house at 1am so I was very spooked. However, next day during daylight I was fine listening to it.
note: I am easily scared :)
